Again so funny because my wife says my '89 Lxi Coupe is my carffin. Get it? Coffin. But really, I think after all these years I would like a new Civic Si. Maybe someday.

I also think its the mild balance of handling and styling that's appealing.

    Re: Your accord

For me it was my first car as at 17 (a 87 DX 5speed) and it was just fricken fun to drive. It's not fast but you can drive the hell out of it and it just seems to love it and so did I. Also when things did break they were easy to fix, with 298,000 miles on its clock and being overheated a couple times in my care and wrench on it a little and give it some fresh oil and you can start driving it like a mad man again. Its definitely old and shows its age in some spots but that just adds to its character.

My car is only stock and needs some work but I can tell Im already addicted and cant wait to get out of college and have some money to give my accord the love it deserves. plan on keeping it as my daily driver for a VERY LONG time.

I have way too many 89s accords.
somehow a got addicted to these cars back in the early 90s and I have not been able to kick the habit. My friend had an 89 SEI and he drove it like a Cadillac. as I rode with him I kept saying, I have got to get me one of these. by late 90s I bought a Gold lx then a few months later I saw a green LXI. trade the gold in and the habit took root. These car are simple easy to maintain. with a small set of metric tools I can fix almost anything on the car. beautiful form, super handing and everything where it should be. who could ask for more. accept a cleaner and low mileage 1989 SEI
