It's part of the PCV System I believe it separates the Oil And the Air? So the oil drains back into the pan and the air goes into the intake to be burned?

that sounds alot similar to a catch can... would one of those be a solution? i was thinking that the other day and i can take the one off my prelude and use it if i had to.

    Re: 88lxi-shortram's 88 lXI

I got it rigged finally. I used a grommets from autozone and bought a pcv that would fit and just ran a 3/8 hose into the manifold. So next on my list is to reinstall the manifold and begin pricing everything back together. I'm still waiting for to get my computer back so I can order my lowering springs. And also today I picked up a new downpipe from a clean ass accord they just got at pull a part. So harness is next. Can't wait to try and crank it

    Re: 88lxi-shortram's 88 lXI

ok heres a quick update on the car... i have the trans intaslled w/ the cpver plate... except for one bolt on the transmission... its the bolt that holds a bracket with a hose coming off of it. its towards the front of the trans. if i was comparing to a clock id say its at about 4 oclock'ish. but another thing about my PCV system... i rigged it to work (hopefully) basically what i did was i bought a grommet for the oil seperator box, bought a pcv valve to stick out from it and ran a hose from that pcv valve to the manifold... i think itll work but if anyone has any objections please come foward

    Re: 88lxi-shortram's 88 lXI

I broke the PCV system while I was rebuilding my engine. I replaced it all with new and junkyard parts. Pretty much everything from the oil pan hose to the PCV valve is all replaced. I think others are running homemade catch cans, though.

Good luck with the rest of your build.

You'll know when your air filter clogs full of oil.

I don't know for sure, but I suspect you'll see a lot of oil in your air filter.

    Re: 88lxi-shortram's 88 lXI

hmmm... im trying to figure out why you suspect that... i can add another pcv valve to be sure so ill do that. but other than that does the system include anything more than that? from my inspection it just goes box, grommet, pcv vlave, tube w/ turn in it, pcv valve, hose to manifold. correct me if im mistakin

    Re: 88lxi-shortram's 88 lXI

Okay, I might have read your original post too quickly. There should only be one PCV valve. There's the hose from the pan to the breather box. The grommet is on top and curves up to the valve. Then the hose from the valve back to the intake. That should do it. Where are you getting two valves from?

    Re: 88lxi-shortram's 88 lXI

it was an extra i had from the original but i thought you were telling me to add another one to the system... but heres my layout of what im going to be using. hose from the pan to the box, grommet and pcv valve coming from the box, hose coming from pcv valve stright to intake manifold.... im almost sure its a ghetto replica of the system. im almost sure it will work dont you???

    Re: 88lxi-shortram's 88 lXI

Ok I've made alot of progress in the past few days I've almost completed wiring and vacuum layout but I can't figure out where these two plugs go. There is a green and yellow plug that are just hanging out around the radiator and the transmission. They aren't the ones that plug into the coolant port . Also if anyone knows where I can get a diagram of the coolant hose layout or wants to post some pics that would also be helpful
