3.3 at wot seems low to me. my civic is in the 4.5... i was pretty sure all honda tps secs are .5v closed 4.5 open.

where are these brass bushings? inside i presume?

and do you think that it could cause the sputtering hesitation that im getting from being to low?

ok well today i tested the tps again but this time while it was running and the numbers got a little jumpy, also it skipped an entire volt going up from idle throught the low rpms. this is leading me to believe its the problem. im going to use the one off my lude and if it doesnt help ill buy a brand new one to be sure whether or not its the issue

and heres a pic i snapped just for the hell of it. it makes my wheel gap look huge but its really not

did you check to see if your 02 sensor wires are not crossed, and you're checking the TPS with the engine off and ignition on only right?

i havent checked the o2 sensors wires but im pretty sure theyre right. i tested it both ways with it in the on position and not running and once while it was running. either way voltage is low from what ive been told. when i have it closed it can range from as low .45 to a solid .5 then i can creep up and have a decently smooth rise in volts but once i get wot its 3.3 max. thats with the motor not running

i drove it around today for about an hour and guess u were right i needed to drive it and drive it lol... my cel came on and flashed once so its an o2 sensor gone bad. sooooo here my question, can an o2 sensor throw off my throttle like that? i never thought of an o2 sensor doing much besides reading emmisions data.

ok well 4 and 1 is left and 2 and 3 is right for o2 sensors

oh btw your car is still a 4x4

edit: yes an O2 will throw off throttle if not receiving the right signal. replace BOTH O2 sensors.

4x4 :P not for long duuuude, im getting d2s or ksports when i sell my truck so.... :P and i am goin to replace both its 50 bucks for both which im ok with, but im still replacing the tps and the throttle body cuz ive still got a sticky idle from my bad spring and the numbers are still a little jumpy on the tps.

does anyone know what other cats i could use that would fit a cb7? i have my exhaust setup for a cb7 cat and have friends with every kind of honda. i dont want to spend 100 bucks on a cat when i could borrow someones and pass emmisions and give it right back.

    Re: 88lxi-shortram's 88 lXI

ok got my TB gasket and the o2 sensors just waiting for the tps now . on another note i bought a new headlamp today because my old one got water in it and stopped working but i installed it and its dimmer than it should be. then i walked around the car and noticed the corner on the passenger side is dim aswell. its something to do with the passenger side wiring so tomoro im going to research how to test the system and see whats up and try to fix it. if anyone can offer tests solutions that'd be great to. lol my fiances gone so i have some time to pay the accord some major attention. i got a front lip and painted my bumper to refresh the look and it looks great... pics soon

    Re: 88lxi-shortram's 88 lXI

but anyways, i replaced everything as you know ( TPS,o2 sensors, and set the TPS to the best i could and now it still sputters and hesitates. but it shakes the entire car sometimes and scares the hell out of me. its fine in 1st gear, then once the transmission shifts to second its starts the hesitation and then third it gets worse with loud backfires and in fourth it seems like the car is just having to much load on the motor... maybe my TV cable needs adjusting more? i took a 5 minute video to show exactly how it is but dont have a way to upload it yet... ill do it ASAP though

also i mentioned my headlights being dim and there may be an elec prob. in an earlier post and today while taking the pics i noticed they where on... very dim and hardly noticable but nonetheless they where on. you can see it in the pics if you look close (the switch was off FYI)

would my plug wires getting hot have anything to do withthis decrease in performance? i noticed it does this after it warms up but when i just start it it doesnt sputter :/

just for shits and giggles i switched the o2 sensor wires today and so far no sputtering... i need to drive it more to confirm its right but i think that was the problem. also i noticed something about my headlight problem, they only dimly light up when the radiator fan kicks on. when it shuts off the lights go off as well.... maybe a bad relay?

    Re: 88lxi-shortram's 88 lXI

its defintily been a while since my last log on so just FYI im not dead lol. i recently had family issues which led to me, my brother, and my mom to move out away from my dad and live with my grandmother.... long story short i needed to move the accord so saw it as an opportunity to get a real test drive on the new motor. it drove great, stayed steady and shifted nice i had a good 45 minute drive through traffice and open road so i actually got the whole range of throttle action... i did notice that when i turned my headlights on my headlight light on the dash lit up and my lights began to flicker. luckily i didnt get pulled over but i want to get this fixed asap. i was wondering if maybe my alt. belt being loose could be the culprit? i remember working on my teachers civic was flickering and it was a bad diode in the alternator... i get a loud squeling noise as the rpms rise so im thinking its the belt being loose causing the alternator to spin at less than adequate speeds possibly causing the flickering?

is it just the headlights that flicker? The headlamp light in the dash is for a problem in the lights.. as far as i know, the retractor motor circuit, i dont know about the headlight circuit themselves though. Toight that belt up, and see if it fixes it, though. gotta do it anyway, right? lol

    Re: 88lxi-shortram's 88 lXI

ok not much to update on guys. i havent had much time to work on the accord. b/w work and moving out i havent had time to grab my tools. but i finally grabbed them the other day excited to work and remembered i had surgury that weekend... needless to say ive been making a slow, painfull, SUPER gay recovery thats kept me from working on the car ... but im going back to work tomoro so if i make some money this week and if im feeling up to it the accord will definitly be seeing some love .... i make decent money now that im off training ( anywhere from 100 a week to 1000 a week ) so heres a recent list of mods i plan on doing soon...

    1/2" pinch fork mod
    new flaken tires
finish wire tuck/ engine bay clean-up
    more body work
    ST sway bars
    energy suspension bushings
    slotted rotors, new pads
custom 2.25" exhuast (im going to learn how to bend everything myself)
new wheels... idk what i want though but open to suggestions
