    need suggestions

Okay. so I have two choices here.

As some of you might remember my accord *rin* had a nice little knock..Now I'm not afraid to completely rebuild the engine..crank, pistons, rods, valves, and what not...

But I wonder should I buy a used engine for around 250 and work on it, or just stick it out with the devil I know and do a complete rebuild...Also I was still thinking of doing 83mm boring and go with the B-18 pistons.

I've started to make a good bit of money here in the navy. and have about 400 or so a month I'm not using, so I thought now would be a good time to order parts and get them home while I'm in training.

so let me know what you guys think.

If you have a lift, the time and space I would just pull the motor you have unless you need minimal down time, then rebuild a second block. Are you running a B18 now? I might be missing something here but I don't see how 1.8L pistons will fill a 2.0L block, unless you are sleeving it, which is ridiculous cause the A20 is an iron block, then you would still lose compression in the head anyway.

Always build your own. Especially if you have grand visions in your head of the custom engine you want. You never know what you'll get with a used engine and the chances are that it will be bad.

last I checked the pistons in the A20 where 82.7mm, the pistons I would be getting are 83mm...unless I'm forgetting something as well. XD

Not to mention they actually make the acura parts forged. so If I ever want I can drop the compression lower and put in a turbo and be able to push more boost since they could handle more.

    BTW...

Nio is in San Diego. XD and the weather here is awesome.

i agree with the others, get a second block so you can take your time with it and built it right. Then when you go to do the engine swap you wont forget anything. as far as the forged stuff goes for the added durability , check into cryo-treating parts. this really only works well if the metal they used to make the pistons is a higher quality, otherwise its a waste of money.

    Re: need suggestions

    I'll read into that.

Its just going to be a bit longer till I can work on her. Shes been sitting patiently waiting at home for almost 6 months. and 3 more till I have enough saved to go home get her running well enough to pass in texas then drive back out here to work on her.

    But I can't wait..

BTW have any of you heard of these company's called black works, and OBX....

Are they worth it. Cause I saw OBX headers, I was wondering if they where bigger then the pacesetters 1.5 dim and 2.0 collector. *yes I searched, all I found was someone who posted pictures, and talked about the ball joint*

and black works says they can make "Universal" cam gears and shafts for our cars....probably a regrind but I don't know anything about either.
