Just a little update on the LX-i

So I've been going to the junk yard for the last few weeks picking up a few parts here and there. Including new throttle cable, new starter, a preface lift bumper swap, a mint set of cup holders, a new air condition vent, a new 2gee valve cover for a little project of mine, oh and an ugly set of steelies with 205/70/14 sized tires for $100! lol my wheels were bald otherwise i would have never bought those wheels

    Here are some nice pixors.....

here are my cupholders and reinstalled alpine deck

heres my recently painted 3gee valve cover, new dc headers, and new aem cold air intake.

heres my temporary stealthness-mobile (black steelies on black car w/black tint) with my new prefacelift bumper too im still waiting on a set of 16"rota jmags to come in, i have confirmation that they will be in next weekend though.

oh and here is my 2gee valve cover that i am going to find an awesome paint scheme for and turn into my next project for my 3gee.

Re: Just a little update on the LX-i

They were in another 89 LX-i coupe here in a junkyard. I'm not exactly sure if they were an option in 89 on models besides the SE-i though. I know for a fact that they came on the SE-i. but like I said I found them on an LX-i

Theyre a noce upgrade i have a little cup air freshener in them right now lol

thats a good idea. Im going to do that tomorrow now that you mention it because I have to take out the stereo to fix my antenna that doesnt have very good reception right now and i'll run the cable through the flip down door. good call pico, thanks.

yeah like I said theres an SE-i at a JY here with shitty cupholders that are all broken and painted and what not, but I found these in an LX-i that had a mint beige interior also all that was wrong with the car was that it was in a fender bender accident.

Re: Just a little update on the LX-i

I get them brand new and I can get you one from a 4th gen accord or 2nd gen integra (90-93) it just depends what the place has in stock when I call. Mine is from a 2nd gen teg but I personally like how the 4th gen accord CAI's look once theyre modified. the downside to those is that they are harder to make short ram intakes when it rains because the coupler is in a different place.

Re: Just a little update on the LX-i

Lol thanks CAH man. Yeah i love the pre-facelift front end. Ive noticed alot of people who's cars come with the pre-facelift fascia tend to swap for facelift fascia and those who's cars came with the facelift like mine tend to swap for pre-facelift.

Im still trying to get used to it i love the overal look of the bumper. im just not used to it after seeing my car with the facelift bumper all my life lol

Re: Just a little update on the LX-i

    okay another little update......
so those last picks I posted were from last monday (11/23/2009)

and here are some pics as of today (11/28/2008)

heres the 2gee valve cover from when I picked it up this past monday.

heres the valve cover as of now. It still needs a few minor touch ups but what i did was sand it down, polish it, then primered it, then painted the center section with a blue paint, then covered over the blue with 2 AEM decals that came with my CAI. After I carefully placed the AEM stickers on the blue paint I reprimered the whole thing, then I gave it three coats of white paint. After the white paint dried i slowly removed the AEM stickers revealing the blue paint underneath. I also painted the little bolts and oil cap blue to match. Like I said a few touch ups are required but all in a days work. hope you guys like it...

heres my original engine bay about 2 months ago. 100% stock. omg I cant imagine going back to such a horrbile engine bay! lol

heres my engine bay from last weekend 11/23/2009 newly installed DC headers, and AEM CAI

And heres my engine bay with a newly painted AEM Cold Air Intake, new optima red top batt, and test fitting my new 2gee valve cover (I still need to do a few touch ups if you look at the letters on the bottom they look horrible) I'm resanding that section and repainting it white.

I also need some input with this................ I had it on my red valve cover and am really contemplating getting a blue one or another one of these gray ones for the new valve cover. but as you guys can see it would connect to the top of this valve cover rather than behind it. so it would have trouble clearing once the hood is down. I have considered drilling a hole in the hood just big enough for this to pop out enough to clear. I thought that this would look pretty cool and something that no one has done for such a small mod. I would like all of your guys input with this. I'm not so sure I want a vacuum hose coming from such a nice valve cover going to the CAI??????
