    Re: It has begun.

I will wait on ordering the Came Shaft till I get home, Since I need to send in the core and don't feel like spending 75$ +shipping to get a extra one over to them.

    Not wanting to dissapoint.

I went ahead and ordered myself The Valve Kit first. XD

So I have almost spent more on these two parts then I did buying the car. But I kind of like it that way.

I almost thought about buying a second hand camshaft and sending it in, but I thought that might be douchie so I didn't do that.

It's not really. I mean if the other camshaft is mangled and bent, then that would be kinda douchey. But if you were to go to the wreckers and send one of those in, they usually can use that to regrind anyways. I mean, the one you'd be pulling out of your car in exchange is used too. They can rework them and make them nice again.

Well I'm in the middle of no where right now in Cali

    *we are doing a Op*

and my car is in Texas and has been for the past 8 months.

But I'll have my family send me pictures of the parts, I should be able to get the pictures for the cam gear in a few. and then the rest when the part comes in. XD...Gawd it feels so nice to have parts finally shipping in for the car.

BTW I almost bought the OBX headers last night but I'm deciding to wait till The first of April for those. *lol not a joke*

    *edit*
do you think I could cheat my way out of paying a bit of shipping by sending the camshaft to them say if I order it from ebay or amazon. you know instead of sending it home, then sending it to them. XD

Give it time, I know you love to work on your car, and that's what counts. I just happen to have a good bit of money and I wanted to drop it all into her. Just takes time and patients. XD like I had when I first got her.

Did you ordered bearings before you dismantled the block? These engines have tolerance issues, you need to read the number on the block and you have a chart that dictates thickness of bearings. they are never the same thickness.

Its prttey fnuny how you can raed tihs eintre snetnece with all tehse ellters out of palce...

How many different type of main crank bearings are there for the A20A3?

Anyways, last I checked these would fit, so all should be good.

its better to double check everything before making a decision.

I did, I hunted for like a week. and I was only able to find several parts, they where the same ones listed on autozone/autoparts but on Amazon for 10$ less.

and I was only able to find two sets, one which was only the bottom barrings, and the ones I ordered.

so that's why I was a little confused about him posting this.

*edit* I didn't notice any that where oversized, wouldn't that mean I would have to have them custom made?

Damn, that is a sexy looking gear. Hell, I might sell my custom job to partly fund one of those.

    Re: It has begun.

Nothing really spectacular with this purchase. but ordered a good bit of parts.

brand new starter, New springs with 1.6' drop, Refurbed CV joints *the whole shaft*, a gasket kit, and a new drivers side window since the old one was destroyed a long time ago.

I'm going to have about a grand to spend over the next month, expect the OBX exhaust and the Bisi cameshaft to come soon. I'll post pictures with my camera once I get home, since I'm going to be there in about 5 days anyways.

Also I'm picking up new rotors and new brakes. :P so happy she is finally moving along.

    Re: It has begun.

    I GOT PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now keep in mind I haven't started work. I spent the last 3 days flying from San Diego to Baltimore, and then driving from Quantico Virginia to Amarillo Texas.

Tomorrow we head to the junk yard to grab some random parts. and then we start work on the car. :P I'll get some pictures of the car later tonight. Keep in mind she has been sitting for 8 months without any work.

But without further waiting, Here are some pictures.
