I've seen a synopsis run on the same car one with and one wiythout and the synopsis sheet showed improvement but I'm not sure if there were other factors involved. Yo rendon check my thread man there's something in there posted recently that youve asked about before

can you post a pic as to what you are referring to specifically?

shortram, msd blaster 2 coil, lowered 2.5" in the rear 3" in the front, stripped because race car XD
One itty bitty rock in there and bye bye impeller
it will help a NA car, but with forced induction it's not going to make much of a difference. you also need some sort of filter on there, you can get a filter to cover velocity stacks. it's not worth the risk to run them wide open, the amount of dust and debris they inhale will do a lot of damage. a velocity stack is mainly designed to allow air to flow smoothly into a carburetor, mainly carbs such as side draft webbers, SU's etc. if you have have something like ITB's they will also help, there is actually a filter you can get that slides into those.

It may help a turbos efficiency but as others are saying, i wouldnt run it without a screen or filter or something to prevent debris from entering the turbo. On my old T3 60/63 I sucked up a rock on my old setup and it destroyed my compressor wheel, so the only time I will run it like that is if im doing a dyno pull... the new SC6152S is too expensive to chance it

well can we address the fact that some random sized velocity stack will probably do nothing for you?
people that use velocity stacks put a lot of r&d into sizing on specific applications. there was a thread on d-series about velocity stacks and stepped intakes for the d-motor. the guy spent about a year figuring out just what size to make everything for optimum power and he ended up going with a smaller throttle body than stock to do it. so it's not just like a plug and play type thing. if you're doing it for the bling factor i'd reconsider.

I know on my setup I ended up cutting off and using the factory ones for the SU's on a Z car. I could buy specific ones for my carbs, but I don't have the extra 200 bucks for a set. Thats where I came up with the eyeball air cleaners. Mine are hidden under the foam and the screen

Well do bro. well theres alot of people saying this and that so i figured ill post it up on hurr
The idea is to make a smoother pull of air thus faster spooling turbo IDK .
Going to put a screen if anything. Not going to fuck up my 500 dollar turbo LOL
Well it think it does a factory regradless. Thats why i see alot of guys using it on dynos but yet idk. Turbo guys say they gain 5hp gain. But yet some are dyno proven some are not
Would it help the turbo pull a smooth current of air thus spooling faster? Well thats what the research says. BUT you have to tune it correctly at the same time
True true. I get what your trying to say. But i figured if im going to tune might as well use it durning my tuning session? weather it was designed for my type of turbo you know. SO what is 35 bucks going to hurt LOL. BUT i see all kinds of stacks. I see long, short, super wide. i mean Idk you know. I completey agree wit you thou.
1.1hp can make one hell of a difference

you need more then a screen, the grit that gets sucked into the engine is like sandblasting the internal surfaces, it's not so important on a drag car where you make a few passes between teardowns
35$ could hurt a lot more then you realize.. what wrong with a good filter?
yeah 35 dollars and a free pebble to fuck your shit UP.

the velocity stack is fine, just get a filter for it, they make them specifically to fit on those. You can also get a cold air filter with the velocity stack built into the filter
here's one for 64 with the filter http://compare.ebay.com/like/3704092...=263602_309572
yeah...only run that on a track not on a open road

Yea thata the idea lol

I have no filter i running it OG right now. Open turbo lol

I used to run it like that. IMO using just a screen is more of a restriction than actually running a big filter

Well I'm got a idea lol. Go to have a custom pipe made from the turbo to the hood cut a hole for the velocity stack nice an flush. Going to be sexy. Going to make so I can be removed easily in case of rain or w/e. So I'm making draft. . It's a weekend car or track that's why I'm doing what I'm doing.
