I don't understand why engine bays don't look like this (at least mildly) in the first place.

All mine, '77,79,81 fitted with Air-Con all mounted the Alternator up there instead, putting the bigger/heavier Air-Con Compressor down below / in front.
Even a bolt-in battery tray would seem a good idea once you see a rusty battery tray you cannot easily clean & repaint beneath.
I'll leave the compressor as it is for now, at least till I have the money to get them done and recharged. Did I mention that I only spent $10 on the whole thing so far?
Something else I'm fucked with is with my bunch of relays that I added back then in my previous thread last year >< FML
And fuck you brake prop valve!

^ True that. You have to remove the wheel and right fender from a second-generation Dodge Intrepid to remove the battery...
Moar updates!
Battery tray is gone and smoothed up (Y)
Some sanding + glazing putty
Dirrrty
Can somebody help me to pull my engine out please? >< And I for some reason can't reach that damn one nut holding the booster under the dash >< Looks like I'm gonna have to leave that bitch alone grrrr.
And ugh I'm totally broke now, I can barely afford the supplies -.- fml
Pulling the engine is easy. Pop the axles, disconnect the shift linkage, drain the coolant, disconnect the fuel line and exhaust manifold and pull it all out as one unit. I guess you'd have to take off your AC compressor too. Only takes an hour or two! Do it!!
Jack up the car and drop the subframe... that seems like a shitload more work though. Aren't those engine hoists that hang from the ceiling pretty cheap? It's like just a pulley system? Can't rent one from the auto parts store?
i'd unbolt the subframe and jack the car up anyway. i don't like hoisting the engine out the top, if you have a hoist or can rent one use it to lift the car over the engine.
dead white and blue
Huh... I've never done it that way. I guess you've only got the one framerail mount...
We always used a come-along chained to a garage rafter.

yay sanding, that looks fun
theres enough room in that engine bay to fit two engines lol
Hm sounds interesting. Ima look around for the ceiling hoist thing but my carport doesn't have a place to hang them, although I could push my car to my backyard and work in there instead ><
But hey its 60% done now Lookie!
Got that stupid booster out. Finally ><
I know its been replaced few years back with another used unit from a newer Honda, and judging from the writing on the back, its off an EG Civic
This is where I'm planning to cut a hole to run my engine harness through from the cabin. Kinda like what newer cars have
I would make sure you can find some kind of grommet and cut a hole that is about that size. You don't want to fray the wires or let any kind of water get in there...
Obviously sir. I'm gonna reuse the original grommet for it (Y)
Sorry guys, progress has been slow since I'm slacking :p Anyway I've made the hole for the harness to run today.
Too cheap to get myself a holesaw :p
But hey who the fuck cares? It works :p Nice and clean cut right there!
And it fits too!
Battery tray mounted. At the stock location sadly (N)
Should be ready for the base color tomorrow. Color is going to be a surprise
Ahh I almost forgot about the slim fan that I bought few days back (Y)
(Y) fan is (Y)
Test fit on the rad.
Its 10" in size, I should have gotten 12 or even 14 inch instead but nobody carries them -.- Or maybe I didn't look hard enough :p But yeah I'm gonna use the single 10" for now and see if I have any problems later. Else ima get myself another 12 or 14 as puller fan and mount this one in front of my AC condenser as a pusher.
