Weber Swap Into '79 Accord Hatch

No its not mine, Just ordered a Redline Weber 32/36 Kit for my friends 1979 Accord Hatchback, The car was given to her by her grandmother who daily drove it, has 125K on it, paint needs work.
Currently she's been driving a 1984 Chevy Caviler 2.0 Auto as her daily which has lit a fire under her to get her beloved 1G Back on the road.

Only pic I have at the moment :

More less crappy pics to come! And she'll be joining the forum soon

In California there is a county, a county called "Tuolumne" a county where you only have emissions testing when you are Transferring Title on a Car, That county is where I live and I start the bidding on PO Boxes to Reg your car at at $100 LOL JK.

But yeah update I will be helping my friend install the carb on this Sat, Pics to follow

Well Some Progress was made today!

After Priming the Carb, We got the car started and Idling, YAY still need to adjust the Air Fuel Mix but it's doing ok.

Now I come to the part that we're still trying to figure out the Linkage!
We tried pulling the linkage off the factory carb, and after messing with a bunch of little cotter pins and a lock pin we still cant get the shaft off!

What have you guys done to make the Weber work with your factory cable?

    Thanks

Re: Weber Swap Into '79 Accord Hatch

I used the Weber linkage that came with mine. Then I modified my cable to work. Basically, I just cut the end off the cable, and soldered a ring terminal onto the end of it, then you can just bolt the ring terminal onto the Weber's linkage. It works pretty well, but not as well as I would like...

Yeah you have to modify the cable it came with. Everyone does it a different way so you have to find out what works for you.

The weber looks so friggen tiny on that intake manifold haha

If the electric choke is not hooked up, the choke will always be fully engaged... which, yes, causes a rich condition. There's a wire going to the stock carburetor that can be snipped and run to the choke straight out of the stock harness directly behind the carb on the firewall... Can't remember what color I used though...

I believe the wire should be black with yellow stripe (they come on only when the key is on the ON position)
