    Rustlude build thread

This car has almost been through everything so here is the run down about it.

When I turned 15 I got this car from my Sister who got it from my aunt. It had been sitting outside for 2 years wasn't driven because it had a bad water pump (later I found out it wasn't)

    Car was all stock

It was relativity clean, but I soon discovered some rust...
So I did some mods the normal cat-back exhaust, intake, relocated battery to the trunk and put a MSD coil on it.

Oh and some gay fogs (ricer stage)

Over the years I had seen other prelude owners do some autocrossing, and I was very intrigued. An old friend from preschool had been doing it so I decided to try it.

    Re: Rustlude build thread

Alignment was off, car was still an auto, but I still had a blast.

So I went a little more ricer and painted my wipers red :Sylee: I have no idea what I was thinking. But I picked up a crazy cheap/legit suspension setup
    - Koni sway bars Front and Rear
    - KYB Gr-2's up from
    - Koni reds for the rear
    - Intrax lowering springs
    - SS brake lines
    - Some hawk HP pads

    Moar Racing!

For that event I got first with an auto But the best thing was those VW rims had some falken 512's on them I picked up at u pull it. They had nasty flat spots on the tires, it was so bad they couldn't be balanced out I wish I still had a picture of them.

So I did some more racing I didn't change much on the car, used the same shitty tires though.

Oh and it was still an auto, didn't place well at this event in Hastings, but I was proud I didn't get any DNF's on such a large course.

Next event got a first place

Did some schooling helped me out quite a bit and got some super old dot R Victoracers on the VW rims

---- Finally swapped it to a manual, I had tons of issues with parts took me 3 months to get done, but it got done.
Mounted some 3rd gen prelude seats

Made a ghetto rear sway bar mount

    And a unsafe camera mount

    Re: Rustlude build thread

Rear sway bar was a tight fit, rubbed on the trunk a bit

And the interior at the time

Made a 92-95 civic cold air intake fit

Some stupid ass huge plug wires

So I did some more racing, and decided the rear springs were way to soft

    New brakes and brake lines

And my secret to a awesome suspension, EBAY LOWERING SPRINGS FOR $50 bones

As it sat most of the summer with shit on it, on jackstands and not getting worked on

    Put a catch can on

And made some adjustable top hats to get full shock travel when lowered. This helped out a lot.

Bought a header, it was pretty well smashed so I fixed it. Didn't install it because it was missing some stuff.

Car got parked for the winter, pulled it out the in the spring, got a set of rotas and the first night I had them. I was taking a corner a little to fast hit a median at 50 and fucked the rota and my car

I was kinda bummed at the damage and started to look for another prelude. I found one on a prelude forum, no rust, texas car, $500 I couldn't argue. Took my tax return and work bonus and headed to Texas

    Re: Rustlude build thread

Took it to the dyno finally and was very pleased
Car had intake, header, exhaust, and cam and I made 30hp at the crank on a 150,xxx mile motor

And it was running a bit rich...

And from the accident I had terrible alignment issues... so I parked it and drove my beater
Finally got it aligned the accident was much more worse than I thought...

This summer my friend from CO stopped by and we snapped some pics
Car had corbeaus, Nrg steering wheel and quick release installed

I'm sure it goes without saying, but I love, Love, LOVE this car! It gets me all teary eyed to see this build. This car, my 3geez friends, is one of the most important cars in the 2nd gen community hands down. This car will always be epic win!
