New Rims + Lug nut Question!

Hey as some of you might know i picked up some new rims

    https://www.3geez.com/forum/showthrea...19#post1063319

i tested them out and liked how they looked but the thing is the lugs are too short and the nuts look kinda small. I searched online and found out as long as they are tight it shouldn't be a problem. But what do you 3geezers think?

I think i SHOULD get new nuts, any recommendations? Nothing too expensive though. Also what colour should i paint the rims? Keep them the way they are and polish the lip?

    Thankkks in advance guys!

    Visal

I got a new set of smaller ones. Buy my OEM locking lug nuts. They're pretty long.

I`m pretty sure you can buy longer wheel studs.

    I/H/E, B16 mani, delta 272, OBD1....etc

Um, are you sure those wheels are 4x100? They look like 4x114... and with that offset, I have a hard time believing they would be a 4x100 lug pattern. The lug nuts aren't even centered in the lug holes, which would explain why the nuts won't tighten down properly. It looks pretty unsafe, IMO. You also need to make sure the taper of the lugnut matches the taper of the wheel...

The studs have to be centered. I agree with 2nd gen guy. I wouldn't drive with those wheels.

Re: New Rims + Lug nut Question!

Well i'm not driving around with them yet. I still have normal steelies

well anyways the guy i bought it from had them on a jetta and then on a civic si

    so i think its 4 x 100

"The lug nuts aren't even centered in the lug holes, which would explain why the nuts won't tighten down properly."

i think they are not centered because the lug nuts are so small...i dont know tho.

and they do screw down but i can turn it like, 10 turns and then they are tight.

maybe i should get some longer studs. Should i make a video for you guys to show everything?

Either clean up and sell or you can buy an adapter plate on eBay to make them fit

Re: New Rims + Lug nut Question!

That is a bummer man. You could take them to a shop and have them slot the holes so that they'll fit the 4x100 pattern. Wheel adapters will probably make them stick out too far, seeing as how the offset is already pretty steep. Or yeah, repaint them and sell them for some profit...

Clean them up and sell them. Buy yourself a set of Minilites or Ronal Turbos.
