From what I remember, the pn# for both the dx and si cross members were the same...i didn't have any problems...you got pics?
Yeah, I posted them in the Chris'smount thread
Hey man i just moved into the denver/lakewood area and love your build. I would like to talk with you about your progress and where i should start on mine. I have an 88si that i would like to boost. its going to be a summer fun builder. contact me if you would like to meet up and chill.
What's up, man. Yeah, there's a couple local guys here. I'm down to chill whenever you feel like. You ever go to meets? Ever go on the local forums?
Which fourms are you on

Ok, guys. The car runs! It needs a bit of tuning. I'm having a very hard time with my clutch slipping really bad. Idk why. I thought my clutch cable had stretched, due to bad adjustment. Now I got a CRX one in, which came off a running car with no problems. And I still can't adjust the damn thing to a point where it's working normal! I've got an oil leak coming from my valve cover that I saw today, going down into tranny. Think that could be my issue? I feel like a noob. Help guys
Eh, not likely. Oil from the valve cover would drip down the block but it wouldn't really be able to get on the clutch disc. Even with a rear main leak the oil will just spin off the back of the flywheel.
Nothing has changed with he clutch since before?
So did you ever get a measurement on your front mount height?

Well its a new clutch. Wasn't on the old set up. It was fine, then started slipping, and has only gotten worse.
I didnt measure it, but with both welded together and onto the crossmember worked well
Slipping would indicate the cable is too tight, or something else is wrong.
You welded the new bracket to the cross member and the poly mount to the bracket? That's one way to do it I guess. It would still be helpful to have a measurement on your old stock mount though if you still have it.
C|
Yeah, I know. It just started slipping. It either slips, or won't go into gear.
I welded the two brackets together, then bolted the poly mount.
Oh, I see what you mean now. You can't measure the old one because you cannibalized it. Would you happen to have a picture of the top part of your old mount? I think I've confirmed that the SI Prelude does use the short mount like I suspected but I'm trying to get visual proof.

I'll get pics up tomorrow. The mount is that hydraulic one. Just like the accord. But, I think the crossmember is what's different. I will get some measurements to clear everything up

Weeeee!!! Haven't touched the thing since summer. It'll probably still continue to sit until it starts warming up. I have been too busy to touch the car, and the fact that it's still about 45 mins away from home doesn't help

The car's gone
I'll be starting a new thread soon...
Such fun old times seeing this thread!!!
Almost 10 years later and still no big updates… hope all the OGs around here are doing well!! Finally getting a real “shop” to work on my cars and hoping to bring the “new” old chassis back to life. Hoping to turn this into a nice street/drag and drive car by mid summer
Don’t expect anything different from me when it comes to plans though
EDIT- does anyone use this forum anymore? I’m pretty sure everyone is on Facebook nowadays, right?
