Don't know why I got this... still wanna get the air to water set up from frozen boost...
Yupp. 2.5 in/out, and 2.5 piping...
Soooo some more bad news, again... When I got my head rebuilt, two of the spark plug holes weren't in great shape they said; so they repaired them using time-serts... Well last night, I went to start working on car, and decided to start by throwing on my colder plugs in, and well fuck me, the entire plug and time-serts both came out!!!!
SOO, no, I have to buy a repair kit and fix this shit. I'm using JB weld this time since apparently Fords use it often since the like to pop plugs out of the heads... So, I'm set yet one more time.. fucking stupid car!!!

Shit sucks.
That sucks to hear... you should try a Helicoil kit. We use them at work and they seem to work quite well for things of that nature.
My Project thread https://www.3geez.com/forum/project-c...dan-build.html

Don't use JB weld if you can incase it gets stuck to the plug unless you going to fill it up with that and then re tap the thread again? Helicoil allways seem to work and not fail after so not sure whats up with what ever the head shop used obviously sub standard or they're work is! lol!
Can allways take it off again and throw it back at em! Might be worth sniffing around for a spare head just in case or if you have a spare then getting prepped and ready so you can do a straight swap! (That's what I do anyway allways have a spare of something ready to direct swap over!)
Yeah, these heads seem to be quiet soft for sure. My head on my read car had two buggered spark plug holes, but I got lucky and just ran a thread chaser through it and it works fine. I've learned from my previous preludes/accords to ALWAYS use anti-seeze on spark plugs and to only remove my plugs on a cold motor
Yeah, I didn't use anti seize, and pulled them after driving home from work..
So you guys recommend Helicoil over Time-Sert??? And no JB weld??? I'll post up a link of what I meant...
I've never used time serts so I can't say anything bad about them but I would recommend helicoil since I've never had a problem with them.
i've never really used either, but i've never heard or "time-serts" see next time you'll use some Anti-Seeze on those little diddies
Highly recommend copper grease on plugs mines been in and out hundreds of times and I've never had an issue with stripped plugs or plugs stuck. Think this is pretty common procedure on any petrol car is it not?
Yeah, my buddy and a lot of shops around here recommend time-serts.. They're not as known like helicoil is, but they're supposed to be a bit better.. I'll def use more anti seize on everything now!!!
If the threads on the insert and head are still ok, and the insert will thread back in all the way, try this. Pit a little red loctite around the upper part of the insert and thread it back into the hole all the way. Let it sit overnight and then try removing the plug again. The loctite should hold the insert in and let the plug come out.

That's the problem with one of them
I just messaged the guy that built the head and told him he needs come down and get this shit fixed.. A new kit to fix this is like 200 bucks!! Plus then order the parts needed... fml..
Head came off. Went back to shop. They fixed it, and are providing all gaskets... hopefully she's back up tonight.
Also got Odyssey battery and tray. Pics of that tonight
Hmm looks well dodgy! how hot is the engine running try running it cooler if you can? Or maybe you need colder plugs especially with the turbo etc. what ones are you using?
Looks like a hot plug that was in a hot motor and got stripped out...
I'm not quite sure why it did that. But my buddy told me he's seen this happen when the serts aren't installed right (loose) they burn up.. The plug was fine. It was the sert that got fucked up. I got the head back Monday night. I just have been really busy, so haven't installed it yet...
Rich, the turbo hasn't gone on yet.. As soon as the head goes on, the install will begin![]()
