SRP. Also thought about Probe just because I hear they're cheap and good.. or so I've read..
i paid 155 per custom pistons from weisco. they are really nice and built my pistons to my specs and they were coated sides too.

he was running e85 that day...
Gio, I only paid 770 shipped for my rods and pistons. Might be harder to find 83mm bore stuff, but I know that it exists. Also, if you need the number for the crazy old fart that did my engine work let me know, he wasn't to spending and was did amazing work! My crank was totally fucked, and when I got it back from him, it was insanely beautiful! He even helped me find my bearings for cheap, ACL race baby!

I know they make them. Its just the ones I wanted I couldn't find in 83mm. I wanted to keep it under 500 for pistons. Fuck it. I'll just go with CP pistons.
So I've decided I'm going with an 84mm bore. Don't think headgasket will work. So will be ordering one from cometic.
I'm also thinking of doing big valve conversion on head while I'm at it..
so stock b20 pistons?

not stock, but yes. b20 pistons. flat top. which should be like 10:1, plus the .030 that's shaved off the head. should be close to 11:1?
BUT!!! This will be put off for another month, or so. I'm picking up a CRX for the girly that needs some work... DD with some grunt to it. Already has b18b1 in it with blown headgasket. stripped, pretty damn clean. for stupid cheap, so can't pass up on it!!![]()
84mm will be pushing the head gasket to the limit, especially with heavy boost. Going from 83mm to 84mm gets you almost nothing in terms of compression ratio, a gain of about 0.2 points. Honestly I would say it's not worth the trouble.
If you want to bump up the compression it would be better to mill the head. 2mm off gets you to 11:1. If you want more then weld up the chambers. Getting flat top pistons will help too. Will all that you should be able to get to 13:1 or so.
Does Cometic even make an A20 gasket?
SI can make the valves for you. Figure around $35 each. Combined with the above work you'll want to start worrying about valve clearance if you intend to run a high lift cam.

Reason I want 84mm is because probe doesn't make an 83mm piston. I was planning on talking to SI about valves. The head is already milled .030". Cometic makes gaskets for anyone; money talks
I'm wondering if I should get another head that's not milled? I'm worried about the p2v clearance![]()
i'll show you some p2v clearance.
dead white and blue
still haven't touched the damn thing![]()
She's finally not out in a public parking lot!!! Got garaged last night. Tearing out the engine, and tearing it down to pieces to see what went wrong. I'm thinking of throwing a some stock ls rods, and type r pistons in another block while I get mine built up the ass![]()
lmfao. Funny. I think that's why the CRX hasn't blown on me.. I never drive the damn thing haha
hahahaha
I need an a18 block!!! Anyone have one for cheap?? just need block. nothing else.
81mm factory b-series?
ITR pistons on LS rods
It should do good with only 10psi of boost. And I won't rev over 7k rpms this time lol
Nice!
