Re: Just me and my scrubby Accord.. :(

Can ~have~? I think he said the muffler was GReddy, I need new pipes for sure, I looked up the augusta pullapart and they only had 1 accord, and a 2nd gen prelude, and that's when I looked it up like 2 weeks ago or so.

I think i'ma buy some struts this upcoming friday, tires and alignment are next, then i'll see what else is a 'problem' aside from the exhaust.... Which is next, then i'm gonna get ahold of dacantu for some door panels at least, then do some SERIOUS cleaning! gonna be busy busy busy!

Random question though... How did I mess up the back seat? I just dropped it forward, and the only part of my car the exhaust pipes actually touch are the front passenger seat, which is covered, the back metal of the back seat, and my trunk, which has no liner in it or anything, after some cleaning i'll pop the seats up and take the covers off to take pictures of 'em, they're pretty filthy ^.^

Roo, let me know about that exhaust!

Question... How do you guys deal with rust so it doesn't come back? The previous owner said he spent a few back to back weekends sanding away the rust, buuuut, as it would seem, it's starting to come back, the most of it is on the roof, a little on the hood, but nothing major, a few odd lines of rust, but the roof looks like this..

one way is to grind the hell outta it and use a rust converter / remover like navel jelly ( be careful products like these usually have some kinda of corrosive acid in them) or even better is getting some POR-15

I wouldnt "grind" it , esp on the hood or top, it risks warping the whlole panel.
You can use 60 grit on an orbital sander.
Looks like you could just go over it good with 100 to 150 grit to get that surface stuff off and then take it down with 180 and reprime. There are several primers out there that turn black (rust converter) and work very well and killiin the rust from coming back. The issue then will be letting it cure out good before resanding it, to then start applying surface primer to smooth it down good enough for a semi flat paint job I believe you said you wanted.

The exhaust was on my sedan at one point. Im 99.9% positive it will be quieter than what you had/have.. but it still sounds racy. It has a 32 inch smittys glasspact in place of the cat, and then streight out the back with oem pipe to a resonator tip. I cut the header off it, so it may work well with your set up if you reuse your flex pipe flange to weld to it so it fits your bolt up collector if that is what you have.

It is just sitting out going to waste, I wouldnt be using it for a while anyway so its best put to use if you want it. If not thats cool too.

I'm thinking about it the paintjob I have soooo many plans for this car, unfortunately the big ones like engine swap, etc, are going to have to wait till next April after I get done with BCT&AIT [going Army], so till then i'll be doing simple things, brakes, suspension, exhaust and headers, a little engine stuff, spark plugs an wires, and a lot of cleaning.

Re: Just me and my scrubby Accord.. :(

Well, I haven't updated this in like a year, and i've gotten a few things done, as of April 12, 2012 i'm officially out of Army training, back home [i'm a Reservist] and going to school at a local Technical College, doing Core Classes this semester, and I start their Automotive program in the Fall [August].

I've gotten some work recently done on the car, and to give a general list of it all: i replaced the front struts because they were gone, car rode like a boat, got the exhaust fixed up, put Roo's pipe on there, and my buddy put my old muffler on the end of it, i've got a set of DC headers I still gotta put on, having some issues with disconnecting.. [RuSt] I got door panels, an overhead light, a new 3rd brake light, and since right before I went to Basic Training last August some lady backed into my car, I had to replaced the brake light too {did them both so they matched}. I also got some mud flaps, cause they're spiffy to me and I like them. Pictures below!

Re: Just me and my scrubby Accord.. :(

She got me pretty good :P

But it's okay! I fixed it!

Passenger side, without door panel, with mudflaps

Driver side, with door panel and mudflaps

Got all this from Pull-A-Part, it wasn't in to bad of shape, the headlights look ~new~ and the door panels are slowly cleaning up nicely..

    Good progress!
There was a mint interior out there two weeks ago for a hatch, a lot of that fits a coupe too

Re: Just me and my scrubby Accord.. :(

I was picking apart another accord, the hatch didn't have the door-seatbelt slots I needed on the panels [I pulled one of them off though] I plan on going back out there next week and trying to get some more of the interior, she's been giving me trouble though, I think i'm gonna try to bypass the heater core for the summer, cause even after being replaced last year, it still occasionally leaks onto the passenger side. You still got that wing/fin/spoiler, whatever your preference of name, laying around?? I still wanna get that from you I live even closer now lol, i'm across the street from Egg-roll Express, Evanston Dr.

Its really hard finding interior pieces for the coupe in that color and it looks like you need that center taillight.
