i guess i could do that, i just wasn't sure if anyone had drawn it up as a blueprint, that could be useful to have that blueprint up here on the site

    Re: dc strut bar

Is there a lot of interest for this? I've always been for supporting new mods for the 3rd gens. I would be willing to donate my DC mounts to be replicated as I'm not using it right now. BUT I've been burned in the past in other dealings trying to make things happen.....So I would only want to send it to a long time member I can trust that can make a bunch of them for other members.

Sorry if this sounds kinda bad but I don't have anything to gain from this, just lose IF the mounts don't come back to me leaving me with just a bar I can't use lol. So I'm kinda hesitant about just sending them to a random member.

    Re: dc strut bar

I could try to replicate them. I have a metal shop in my garage and for trust issues I'll make a security deposit or something along those lines to ensure you feel confident about getting them back

yea the bars are the easy part to make it's just being able to copy the mounts is the issue

    Re: dc strut bar

They don't look that complicated to me. It'll probably take me a while to measure everything, calculate the angles, weld it up and check the work. It may take me 2 or 3 tries but it shouldnt be too hard.

    Re: dc strut bar

I have everything to make this at my shop. Ill try to make one bracket and post a pic of it by Tuesday. Should not be to hard to make the angles of brackets will just need a saw to cut angles then weld them and clean up with a grinder and bondo filler to fill in pin holes.

    Re: dc strut bar

YK86 I am seriously interested in this. I don't imagine it would be to hard to blueprint a bracket without the physical bracket, but I am sure having it would make things easier as well. I know a really talented fabricator here in Phoenix that I'm sure could pull off welding up some brackets without a problem.

If you are interested in sending to even semi new members Im sure there are a few members here that can vouch for me that I have dealt with in the past 2 years I have been here. Also, you can check out my build thread to show what I have done, and just to show the real interest I have in the 3rd Gen and keeping them alive.

Please let me know what you think. You can PM me or call/text me at 6zero2-4three4-1two06 if you'd like to talk a little bit more.

OK just got done with the fab work making a bracket that bolts to the strut . Headed to store to pick up the stuff to make both brackets and the bar thinking about 20 to 30 bucks for everything.

    Re: dc strut bar

after you are all finish could you post a pic of it off the car, then installed?

also if possible post exact cost of parts. If comes out good and if your willing to do it, I would love to have you make one and I buy it off you. We would have to talk over the phone to figure out how you want payment for it.

I don't do paypal anymore. But if you have chase we could do a transfer from my chase to yours, I could cut you a check either personal or cashier check, money order. whatever.

I live in so-cal, 92544. I am in no rush right now for I am replacing my rear main and trying to see about replacing oem clutch with stage 1, getting lighter flywheel and if not too much id like to rebuild my tranny while its off just cause. 3rd has a slight grind when racing.
