    they just seem like cheaper material. Seems like they would have too much flex.. but i guess ebay ones are cheap material, too.. and people still use those

    The mounting flange on the PP design is thinner but the bar is welded to it on each side, making it much stronger than the flange would be by itself. Most of the force on it is going to be in shear (parallel to the plate) anyway and not pulling up/down, so it doesn't need to be very thick.

    All of these bars would work fine for what they're supposed to do. I do like the ESP designs though.

    that bar from pp would benefit from an additional mounting point on the fire wall

    cygnus is right, most of the force will be in the horizontal / shear plane with some force being transferred to the vertical plane due to the angle of the strut mounts
