    Re: A18A's 1988 Vigor 2.0MXL

so my vtec works, i wired it up to an alarm siren and sure enough it makes noise at around 5500rpm. i could (barely) hear the vtec engage after i plugged the solenoid back in too, so no failure around the vtec stuff. unless that was the IAB i could hear, and the vtec solenoid isn't doing its job?

apparently the egr error makes the car run in safe mode and it wont rev past 6500rpm. I also hope that's why it's slow in the higher rpm. now i just gotta figure out how the whole egr thing works so i can fix it, and hopefully have a proper functioning h22a

actually i'd still need an exhaust and matching knock sensor

i just fixed the egr issue, i had 2 wires around the wrong way, opps. no more CEL but the motor still wont rev past 6500rpm and doesn't perform any better. i have no idea why, hopefully i didn't damage the ecu. wat do next???

thats vtecing across the universe. h22a's are quiet when they jump lobes.
just have to watch the way the rev counter speeds up at 5500rpm.

i can definitely hear & feel it when driving it now.

K series are the loudest, h22 has the most... Vtak crack, if thats the proper wordage... When a h22 isn't right and u have a exhaust and intake u can hear it.

    Re: A18A's 1988 Vigor 2.0MXL

do you have a stock intake? if so, that's probably why it's quiet.

anyway today i gave the engine bay a bit of a tidy up, looks decent now hopefully it doesn't throw away all my oil anymore

    selleys knead-it to the rescue

    lol auto-focus fail
cover appears to hit the bonnet

    hopefully not anymore

    sounds good man!
now i know what i have to aim at beating

and yeah, my SiR was bog stock standard , so was very quiet on the vtec.
still think b20a with cams and quads will be better

    Re: A18A's 1988 Vigor 2.0MXL

im gonna make an exhaust & a decent intake for this car as far as engine mods go, then i'll be done with it. Maybe put in a fresher engine that's not as raped as this one later on in its life. i'm happy with it for now. next time i'm down the scrappys ways i'll weigh the car. im sure it could go on a diet though

now to make it wofable some how lol

    Re: A18A's 1988 Vigor 2.0MXL

i weighed it today, it is 1280 kg with me in it. so without me or my tools in it, i guess it weighs around 1200kg. i think it should go on a small diet

might be cause it was going up hill, or cause it was low on fuel

    Re: A18A's 1988 Vigor 2.0MXL

option A is better than option B which would probably get you laughed at.
or just go back to stick quads on a b20a.
