any other advice on the headlights?
Good looking car. Very nice!
First addition to the Lxi. Starting out with the simple stuff.

I'm going for a mostly classic look on the exterior, with a bit of a more modern look on the interior. I love lights, so I'm going to be adding a few to various areas on the interior, but nothing super tacky like poorly attached underglow neon on the exterior or anything similar to that.
I might be picking up some OEM louvers soon for pretty cheap, and I'm gonna see how those look on it. I'm also looking into upgrading my headlamps with a 10k HID Kit. I'm getting the driver door handle replaced next week, and I also just spent $200 on replacing the rear tires, so any big deal major upgrades are still a ways away.
I'm hoping to do an engine swap or at least add a CAI eventually... This current engine only has 110k on it though, so I don't think I'm gonna replace it for a while yet.

Lol, come on guys it's only my first car. I'm entirely new to the world of cars, modifications and performance tweaking. I gotta learn some stuff before I can do anything "real".
^ I agree. I gutted a car, ripped off the side molding, blacked out rear lights...all things that I have sincerely regretted. Now my car is lowered and getting some real shit done to it. hah
Definitely agree! i have only just got my first car, and im quite inexperienced with alot, but i didn't just whack on the first bright and shiny thing i could find. Anyone can walk around with a fluro pink suit, they'll get attention, but they will be ridiculed and laughed at for wearing it. On the other hand, if someone like... Elton John wore a pink suit, people would think, gee! isn't he daring! He's really pulling off the pink suit (hopefully not literally).
Im not sure thats the best metaphor to use, but you get what im talking about?
I was a little unsure with the visual modifications i was making and going to make) to my own car, adding 16" rims, slimline black and white numberplates, shaved badges, facelifted bumper, sprayed bumpers and side skirt, white OEM honda decals, rear louvers etc. (have a look at my newbie post)
While myself and my dad have done alot mechanically to the car i have done almost nothing in the way of performance (i guess much tighter suspension could be considered performance), but basically, mechanically, the car is stock. If i decide to drop a V-tec into it or get lowering struts, i may consider getting some lighting. But with the awesome exterior your car has at the moment, it seems a little naf to just whack in some LED's...
On the other hand, some people have created some really weird and cool looking cars that are almost made in irony and jest of "rice", if you're going down that path, great! its a perfectly valid way of doing up your car. Whack on a 1 foot alloy wing and you should be good to go!
Start with the restoration type jobs first before you spend too much money of something that you will later regret. (post us some proper photos so we can make some suggestions.)
I wanted HID's and i was happy so no more rice after that haha
Yeah, I see your point...
In that case, I'll post some more pics of my accord... Mostly of the problem areas.
Problems....
1. Broken Driverside Door handle. I have replacement, but have yet to put it in.
2. Bubbled paint/pre-rust on passenger-side sideskirt area.
3. The front bumper seems to be hanging slightly...
4. Front Emblem has a slight plastic layer that's chipping away
5. Driverside spacing between the door and front wheel area is slightly dented or bent or something.
(post to be continued....)
(continued post...)
6. Driverside has some paint oxidation areas... not sure how to fix this w/o repainting...
7. A noticeable scrape in the paint near the Rearwindow wiper...
8. This I want to fix ASAP.... The black strip (pictured) flew off when I test drove the car before buying it. The previous owner had then screwed the piece onto the car between the time I left and the next day when I bought the car. Because of the way it is screwed in now, I can no longer open the hatch, due to the black strip hitting something when the hatch is about 1/3rd open...
(post to be continued...)
9. Rear tail light is scratched, due to this scrape/scratch, moisture gets trapped in the taillight whenever I wash the car. I'm assuming this is probably what helped cause the corrosion on the brake light bulbs I replaced when I got the car. Probably will have to get an entire new taillight to solve that though.
Non Problem Areas
Engine Pics:
Don't know much about engine parts, but it appears everything under the hood is stock...
Rear Interior:
Practically looks brand new.
I'll post more pics later on... If anyone can help me out by giving me tips or easy fixes or DIY methods to clean up/fix any of the problem areas on my car that I posted, it would be greatly appreciated.![]()
woooow thanks for the pics! geee... you guys are so unlucky over there getting so much rust! my car was made in '85 and i have one tiny spot of rust on the roof, and i think its because it was missing a tiny bit of paint there...
anyway... rust, crap... IMO you will need a respray no matter which way you look at it. You have a few problem areas too, so a spot respray is a little redundant... How do you guys go with roadworthys over there? In Victoria (Australia) the restrictions are mad, im very surprised that the car was passed with that tiny spot of rust on the roof (about the diameter of a pencil).
If you can get the car on the road with all of the rust, i recommend you drive it around like that, and when you have the time, slooooowly fix the little problems on it. The cost of getting someone else to do these repairs would surpass the cost of the car easily (well at least here in Australia anyway).
You have a big job in front of you, but it seems it will well be worth it, with the low k's and nice colour and all. Just dont get too sidetracked with the superficial cosmetics...
It's probably the taillight gaskets that are leaking.
I think the first thing you want to do is decide what you are going to do with the car. Do you want a factory restore, a rice rocket, lowrider or what? The rust is probably going to be the most expensive thing to fix. You will have to cut out the rust and weld in new steel to replace it. Then you will have to re-spray the car.

Update: (Fixed a few minor things and did some heavy cleaning to the interior as well as the exterior.)
Last week:
Fixed the front bumper's positioning.
Hatch's liftgate black strip is now attached and positioned correctly. Hatch now opens.
This week:
Did some interior cleaning:
(I still need to re-attach the middle vent area faceplate correctly. The previous owner put it on weird, and neither middle vent turns. :P)
And exterior cleaning:
Original paint still shines beautifully!
