Well a 100lbs in the back would make it look lower. thats like having a friend sit in the back seat. Possible it could be the top hat mod.

^ From what I've read, the top hat mod should only affect the shock and not the springs.
Makes me want to put my coupe back on the road. It looks just like that only bigger rims and a few other nice subtle mods.
lol. shocks shouldn't have anything with the height of the car.. unless they're like super stiff and huge. But they're probably right ones for car.. that's weird. did you get front and rear springs mixed probably?
The Cruise control computer systems is located left of the clutch in the corner of body under the dash. I recommend removing the interior fuse box first. The cruise should be clear it carries one screw and a positioning insert so after removing that screw gently wobble it out of the mount.
peace.
Whats stoping you?
The shocks are the right one, only difference is that they were revalve to 300/100. I did talk to ground control to see if they were mixed by mistake, I gave them the # and everything but they told me they were right but I still have my doubts.
OK, thats nice to know
Since I didn't know why it wouldn't go any lower I took the rear suspension off again to lower it as much as I could. this is what I did.
When I took it off. You can see its not as low as it can be with the metal circle thing.
So I removed it and lowered the adjuster all the way down.
Since I took that off, the sleeved moved a lot more. So I took the plastic thin that goes around the shock and installed some fat o rings.
All finished!
End result!... still to HIGH for being at the lowest setting!!!
The only choice I have left is to switch the front and rear springs!
haha you have front koni and rear bilstein. i have front bilstein and rear koni reds. wanna swap? lol
put the metal circle thing back on, take sleeve off, and just put springs in. Or try turning the sleeve upside down..
Ok, send me your konis and I'll send you my bilsteins!
If I run just the spring, it wouldn't sit right since the circle thing is too small which ever way I put it and you're the second person that has suggested I turn the sleeves upside down but that would add about another 1/2" drop (which I think it still shy from the 3" drop) meanwhile I can turn the fronts all the way down and I'm pretty sure the control arms will hit before the spring fully compresses (which I'm pretty sure is more than a 3" drop). Thats how I came to the conclusion that I need to swap out the springs.
Nice work omar...if only the spring seat could be lowered like 2 inches on the strut lol..i say cut and weld that piece lower lol jk
Small update: Ever since my last post not much has been done to the car, not the even the spring swap. I did finally managed to fix my A/C (after 2 months of trying to work on it) only for it to brake down 2 weeks later, FAIL! I first thought there was a leak or that the jy compressor went out but it turned out my expansion valve took a shit. I replace it, flushed the lines again aaaaaaand take 2......... worked like a charm, blowing 42 degree air when its 100+ outside. Not bad for of less than $200 which was converting from a broken Keihin compressor to a JY Nippondenso with bracket and lines, flushing the lines (twice), new receiver drier, new seals, new oil, new expansion valve and converting to R-134. Hopefully it will last a couple years.
Glad to see you back and working on it.
un-motivated!
someone make me an offer i just could not say no to.
3GR
not low enough? look how close the body is to the ground, even though I see why you would think that judging by the tire to fender clearance.
Got's to have AC... me don't so it's a fall winter daily driver.
Yeah been busy the last couple of weeks and you know these cars never ending project. As soon as you fix something, something else brakes! Two weeks ago I learned that 1 of my lower ball joints is shot and one of the top one too so I'll just replace all four at the same time when I get the money! :P
The clearance between the body and ground is pretty big but I guess it doesn't seem in the pic. To tell you the truth I only want to lower it about another .5" but the thing is that I would love to have the option of lowering it even further than that just for car meets or special occasion.Ah yes, A/C is a must in Vegas during summer. I was getting tired of having streaks of sweat every time I drove my car more than 10min! lol
Ok well it seems that its been a while since I have posted anything in this thread. I'll see if I can sum up everything that I have done to the car so far.
1) I was tired of seeing my fugly valve cover so I decided to make it pretty by polishing it.
How it looked back in June
What I did a couple weeks ago
Way too nice to be in my engine bay!
2)Finally found all the side moldings from a hatchback for my coupe thanks to my dad. Also got to thank dacantu for the idea
![]()
3)I also got to switch my springs from the back to the front and vise versa. It did lower my car another .75" -1" in the back (at the lowest setting) which I am perfectly happy with but I can still drop the front way more than the back. I was bored so when I was doing the switch, I decided to set the sleeves all the way down......... too bad it only lasted 1 day. :P lol
Also, I have yet to install the side molding since I don't know whether to polish them or paint them trim black. I guess you'll find out later.![]()
No comment looks beast.

Don't take this wrong, but not really feeling the drop. I think it has to do with the wheels. With that said you should come paint my car, that paint job looks even more beautiful with every update!
No comment to your "no comment" sir! lol but thanks
If I had some wheels with better offset, it would looks even sexier.
Like I said, it only lasted 1 day and trust me, you don't want me painting your car!
Update: I had to raise the rears about 1/2 an inch cause it was bottoming out the shocks. ohhhh also, I finally (after 5 years of owning this car) decide to a "performance" upgrade to my car. I know it wont be a huge increase in power (if any) but I'm tired of seen my valve cover all pretty with nothing to compliment it. I will post pics of that once I get all the parts I need.
I think the offset is perfect.
Looks damn low! But clean.
