I'm having issues with my blower motor drawing too much current. I'm pretty sure it's just old and worn out but looking through the diagrams I can't understand the purpose of the diode wired in parallel to the blower. Can anyone enlighten me?

I think its to keep it running the same direction. Just a guess I'm not that good electrical.
Whats your motor pulling. I think mines pulls around 12-13amps atm. I wired in a inline fuse and my plug was in really bad shape. Take a look at that.
