    Erractic Idle

I need help with my 89 accord Lxi, EFI When I cold start it the RPMS shoot up to about 2000, drops to about 1700, climbes back up to 2000, stays there for about 4min. Shoots up to about 2300, stays there for about 15sec., drops back to about 1700 and slowly drops to about 1500, then starts rapidly swinging between 1500 and 1000 for about 3min., before it settles down to 850. I don't want to shift it at high rpms. Every time I cold start it, I have to sit and wait for it to settle down.

The computer doesn't show a code read out. The EIC was replaced about 15000 miles ago with a new one and I just cleaned it, that didn't help so I replaced it with a used EIC and that didn't help.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Iacv? i know there's another name for it that starts with an E

Sounds like vacuum leak hunting time to me. There's a test covering the 2 holes just inside the throttle body to test Fast idle and Iacv. Other than that get some flammable to spray and good luck
