    newbi here with tranny question.

Hi all, glad to be here and have read lots of posts. I recently purchased a 89 accord lx 5 speed. It is very nice and will be my commuter. I have an issue with what i believe to be a mount somewhere. The car shifts very buttery and all but when under load there seems to be a space every once in a while in around 3rd 3gs that it skips or jerks. also when a quick let off of the gas. seems like a mount to me.....any help would be great. i also am messin with one window that the motor is working but no movement . thanks guys i have looked all through and saw nothing on my mount issue. but very helpful window and ac questions were answered ...thanks

This clause doesn't make any sense to me. Can you restate?

yeah sorry if the question was vague.well after lookin into it today . I have two questions. 1st. i was able to jump my compressor and recharge my system with 22 oz of 134a. the compressor now comes on with push of button bu8t no cold air. ???do i need to add even more 134? also no obvious leaks. 2nd question. the tranny problem i told ya bout . it seems it might be a spark issue causing a jump feeling when accel and lettin off pedal a bit. I found that there was no bolt on bottom of distributer cap . has broke off inside. so need to re tapp it. but could this really be rite. would it cause that type of symtom? I replaced plugs and wires. also if it is not the cap being loose could it just be the timing off?
Tahnks for replying and sorry for askin 2 diff questions here.

no sir. but the previous owner said he "thought it was converted". Will it not even work with the original system? the compressor is the keihin. I am soo confused bout this stuff. Some say just put 134a in, not ideal but will work. Others say it will NOT work period without conversion of comp, dryer and fittings. The system is now functioning with the 134a .....i mean the comp is on so the switches are allowing it to work. just not cold
    thanks for replys!

Any number of things could cause the A/C not to blow cold. It could be a bad expansion valve, or a bad compressor or a door in the dash not working right. A/C's are quite complicated and if you don't know what you are doing, you can dig your way to some very expensive repairs rather quickly. Take it to a professional if you don't have the know-how or the tools.

An ill-fitting distributor cap can cause what you are experiencing. Get that fixed first and see what happens.

thanks snooz i feel ya on lettin someoneslse look at the ac. It is too much for me. I fixed the dist cap and replaced the fuel filter by tank. much better but still there. If they hadn't sold me the wrong in line filter i would have replaced that one too. I will replace that tomorrow and I think it will be good. well see. Also i have an ac guy coming by tomorrow evening to look it over with me. after i added a full 27-28 oz. I realized .....the schrader in low side was faulty. so now the cap is the only thing keepin all my money,,,,oops i mean 134 from leakin out. After that i realized a lesson i learned. leave ac to some one else . It will be one of those unavoidable non dyis for me. I hate payin someone else ya know. But ima sit this one out.thanks

Re: newbi here with tranny question.

when charging the a/c ALWAYS use a gauge.
you should charge to around 45 psi on the low side. if low side pressure is over 90 your compressor isn't running. if it drops to 0 or less (vacuum) you have a clogged system. If you add too much gas the high pressure switch will shut off the a/c to protect itself.
Keihin compressors are not compatible for 134, you need to stick with r12 or get a Nippondenso compressor, bracket, and hoses. All r12 and oil must be flushed out to convert to 134 and the drier should be replaced and the system vacuumed to remove moisture (which freezes and causes a clog)
