    Glazed Pads

    my rear right drum is glazed can someone tell me how to get rid of it i tried sand paper and it came back in 9 days can someone help?

    try turning the drum, if not that, you may need to replace the shoes, too...what brand shoes are they? and do you use the brakes lightly? average? real heavy?

    they are the stock ones i think and right now i break lightly so i dont hear that annoying sound

    breaking lightly causes that glaze to build up in the first place...a constant problem for people who start breaking three miles from the stop light (a little exaserrated, but you get the idea)

    That's my understanding as well. Perhaps turning them like you say would be a good idea, as well as trying different pads out. Just my 2 cents.

    No wonder my brakes last so long. I start braking about 50 feet from the light!

    Exactly...I get that complaint alot at my shop..."my brakes sound like they're metal to metal." It's just cuz they're glazed and that's the noise they make.

    i think i have th esame problem ! and evry time you clean them and sand them it goes for a while and comes back right ?
