Do yourself a favor and save up for a pacesetter header. Then strip it with some paint stripper and paint it with some 1500 degree black or silver paint. When I added a header to my 86lxi after getting the cat back installed, I got a nice shot of power that was worth ever penny I paid for my header. And I bought a DC Sports header, so I'm talking about it being well worth $300. You should be able to get a pacesetter for around $140. I highly recommend getting a header!:smokin:

are pacesetters more restrictive than dc but not as restrictive as stock, or are the about the same as dc but with dc you just pay for the name?

Hmmm interesting way to put it. I can't think of anyone that has ever seen both of them uninstalled to make a visual comparo. I looked over my DC Sports header pretty good. But I'm not sure that I'd exspect the pacesetter to be better or worse. I was willing to pay extra for the DC Sports because a few people have complained about the quality of the pacesetter. I wanted the ceramic coating that's standard on the DC Sports and most importantly (TO ME!) I wanted the mesh flex section instead of the pacesetters joint. But if I flat out didn't have the money I'd get a pacesetter header and exspect simular power gains.

Well, that's what I used to have, wrecked, 7/3/02.

    Now I d

yea definently go for the pacesetterheader because if ur looking for a boost of performance for not too much money get the header and just strip it down (dont forget to do that) and repaint it with heat resistant paint, make sure u have enough for shipping and handling too, u may not have enough but if u really wanna wait till ur next pay check DEF. go for the ceramic coated pacesetter for 240-280 forgot exact amount but that will be a lot better than the black one seeming that the ceramic coated u dont need to repaint t and u no its done rite and also it wont rust and resists heat better, remember that no matter if u have the money for something that u want just CUZ u ave the money for that rather than something taht u no is better and will be alot better, just wait for the money and u will thanx urself after u get wat u really knew is better {which iis the ceramic coated} and they will look alot better and give u better performance, if u have any more questions pm me, good luck!
