    Cheddas Auto website officially launched

    I figured it was about time to launch a website. So I've launched a semi-begginer website with most of my products, i know it doesnt list accord parts on the web store, but i assure you that the shifters do fit, as they fit in the preludes. This has been proven. And i assure you that i will be working on other things like bushing kits for these cars ect, as time rolls on.

    Thanks.

    Joined up and dropped some pictures. My car isn't that great looking right now, but thanks to recent events I'm working on her again.

    Forgot to mention, I bookmarked the site into my accord folder. can't wait to see the products.

    Thanks mate!

    Gonna let you know in a while about a short shifter.
    I'll have to figure out which one I want first, and get the money together!

    Re: Cheddas Auto website officially launched

    Finally ready to make some advancements in the accord world. Ive tested my bushings on my car and my shifter bushing kits do work. They replace the lower end shifter bushings, the transmission mount bushings, and the U joint bushings. These bushings utilize the hardness of poly propelyne without having to use steel bushing sleeves. For those of you who have a loose shifter due to poor bushings, this is your answer. Ive sold over 100 kits already for the crx/civic and integra, now they are available for the prelude and accord.

    Again, the kits include, new bolts, nuts, bushings and transmission flat washer. The only work you have to do is remove the linkage and replace the bushings by pressing them in with a small hammer or vise. For the unserviceable u joint bushings, you will need to remove the linkage, grind off the rivet, and replace with the new bushings and bolt.

    Hey chedda, would it be possible for you to show us some pics or a link to how the "unfixable" u joint bushing is modified?
    Also, are there any other bushings that would be good to change in relation to the shifter, or have you covered them all?
    Thanks!

    Heres an illustrated look at the joint, two bushings can be replaced, but two cannot. So the kit will come with the two that cannot, it will require you to grind off the heads of the rivet, and replace with the supplied bolt in the kit. It also comes with two more bolts for the shifter lever and the other U joint bushing. Also includes one large fender washer for the transmission mount. Includes four bushings for the U joint, and two for the transmission mount, and two for the shift lever.

    I can take an upclose picture pretty soon here. The kit will include all the blue circled bushings, and the red circle is the unserviceable u-joint. In response to your question, there is a square bushing in the rear behind the shifer, you should replace it too, but dont buy poly urethane, buy stock, as the poly ones will rip.

    Re: Cheddas Auto website officially launched

    You are correct, #22, its better to use the stock one from honda, because the ones from prothane or energy rip very easily. I was actually thinking of making one to go with my kit, but thats in the future. Btw, your getting the first set made out of Delrin rather than Poly, you can test them out for me, its a even better material. It cost me a little more for materials, but your such a special guy I figured I could afford giving you the first set at the cheaper rate.

    Thats Awesome Chedda, thanks for that!
    I hope being "special" isn't being used in an inverted comma way...

    So you think that the no.22 bushing that energy suspension make is no good? So really OEM is the only option...

    Thanks again for going the extra mile mate!

    Haha your the first buyer of this product so your special in a good way.

    I was asked on three different occasions to make a hard mount for those square bushings for this exact reason, that they are poor, and the aftermarket poly ones are so soft that they rip. My thought was to make a hard plastic one that was a two piece bushing, that would fit over the linkage stub, then clamp together when you put the two mounting bolts back into the carriage. It would obviously leave some play, but i would hope for it to be way more fluid.

    One day I will build this, but not right now.

    They are pretty cheap from honda, but I would inspect your stock one first, it may be in good shape still.

    HA!
    Cheap from Honda maybe in the US.
    Over here Honda parts are ridiculous!
    For example;
    OEM Shock mount bushing in Australia $60
    bought 2 of Rockauto with other parts for about $16
    Admittedly the postage was half the cost of all the parts i ordered it was still about a third of the price here.
    Another example;
    No name air filter from a auto shop $46
    Rock auto $8, and yes postage would have been at least that much again... but SOOOO much cheaper overall!

    Aww sweet! This is part of the reason I'm so proud to be a 3g accord owner. This site has such a wealth of support and dedicated people like chedda.
    Thanks very much chedda, I'm so excited to be getting these shiny new derelin bushings, and very honoured!
