    Contents of the Tool kit?

My apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but can anyone confirm what came in the factory tool kits?
Here's a picture of what I have for comparison, I'm just wondering if I'm missing anything (Besides the lug wrench):

Wow, I never have seen a factory toolkit! I didn't know the cars came with them. I think my car just came with a lug wrench, and that's it...

Very true! I think my kit is pretty much complete, although I'm missing a handle for the screwdriver parts. I think the handle was plastic (crummy), and it's just set up so that you can use the screwdriver parts as inserts. I DO like the fact that the wrenches have the "HM" on them...it's cool to see "official Honda tools"... I should clean them up sometime though, as they're covered in a little surface rust.

You could probably source the tools from some motorcycle toolkits too. I have a couple Honda wrenches at home as well. But I had them long before I had a Honda.

I guess I kind of lucked out, found a 1980 with 93k, in emaculate condition, the only blemish on it was when some jackwagon was glueing the upholstery down on the trunk privacy cover and spilled the glue on the back carpet. any ideas on how to remove the glue without ruining the carpet?

Good question... I know I'm not being that helpful, but I'm sure you can find something that'll work.... I bet if you use some kind of solvent and "dab it on" with a cloth you may be able to get the glue to break down a little without eating away at your carpet.....maybe even some REALLY HOT water? Good luck...

What's' interesting to me is that the Japanese car makers included such tool kits for a good while. My parents had a 75 Corolla that came with a very similar tool kit. This was a car that cost $2,800 brand new in 1975.

"What's' interesting to me is that the Japanese car makers included such tool kits for a good while." Ah the good ole days, when people actually did light maintenance on their own cars! LOL It's interesting (and sad) that as time goes by people know less and less about their own cars...from what I've seen nowadays the only cars that include tool kits are high end sports cars...like some guy with a Ferrari is even gonna change his own oil! LOL

Not a whole lot you can do with these cars at the roadside, anyway. The Toyota "tool kit" had a couple of screwdrivers and pliers and that's about it. Not too much you can do with that.

I disagree. I blew a radiator hose on I5 once. I used the pliars and a ziptie along a with a condom wrapper to patch her up... it held for a good 2 weeks. Lol

OK, I stand corrected. LOL. Condom wrapper. Very resourceful.

I actually keep a small roll of heavy duty duct tape in the glovebox for the possibility of a blown hose, but since I replaced all of them (and, I do mean ALL) just three years ago I should not have to use it.

I found a red bag in the bag of my '82 lude I recently stripped for parts, though there wasn't any tools in it. But it's interesting to see a dark red bag non the less.

Not to take this thread in another direction, but i just figured I'd ask (since I'm replacing my own as well) any suggestions for something to make it easier to get the new hoses on? I've tried spitting on them, which has helped a little but not enough. I'm hesitant to use anything else since I don't want to hurt the hoses and i don't know what's "safe".

Straight coolant makes a decent lubricant.

I use white grease on my hoses.

It sucks that the only tool we got in the 3g's was the jack handle.
