Place to buy auxiliary valve chamber collars? (and pictures)

So I'm almost done with the engine. The head was cracked but I found a rebuilt on the internet and thought I was ready to finish this out. However I noticed that the auxiliary valve chamber collars are not installed in this head. I can't seem to find these parts anywhere.

The manual says I can use a slide hammer and get the collars out of my current head. I am worried that this will damage these and I will not be able to use them again.

Has anyone tried this or does anyone know where to find these parts? I'm running out of ideas.

Here's some images of what I've been up to.

    $800!

    Smashed in fender removed

Rust removed and undercoated. At this point I thought I was replacing a battery then done. Put the new battery in and it wouldn't stop smoking.

    Engine ready for removal

    Engine removed

    The engine on the floor

    All the parts

Back from the machine shop and painted

Suspension parts painted. The black parts are covered in POR15 and still need regular paint applied.

Engine bay POR15'ed and painted. I removed the battery tray so I could fix the huge amount of rust and holes under it with fiberglass mesh and POR15.

Wow, great to see the effort that has gone into it & the progress you've achieved so far.
A lot more to the thread than its title suggests!
Of course I'm biased towards the colour. The orange side pinstripes look interesting & I wish we has the option of those wheels here too.

Sorry I've no ideas regarding the Aux. Valve chambers; Didn't have the CVCC heads here to worry about.

Original battery tray, welded in, wasn't Honda's cleverest idea.
    here was my solution there:

    If you look at this:

    It's part #13.

Ok. I was thinking if it's something fairly simple I might be able to make them. I can't really tell much from that picture though. Are they steel, aluminum, etc.?

I would suggest joining this oldhonda.org as well, there seem to be a lot of people on there who are able to source these old parts, also start calling machine shops, even if they aren't in your area, they might be able to find these, then you can work out something on shipping. They are out there somewhere, it's just going to take some searching. If I remember correctly, there is a specific procedure for removing those involving cyrogenics. It might be best to find a shop who has done this, and let them install them when you find them, I believe they are also undersized when new, and have to be reamed to size. The metric reamers are easy to find, MSC has everything imaginable. send me a pm when you get a chance and I will try to copy the section on the AUX valves from my old 81 civic book, i'm sure all the aux valves are the same model to model. I can copy that section of the book and mail it to you, I don't have any way to scan it

If they're the same parts up to 81, then I might just have a set of 4 sitting in a box in my garage. You should PM me. I just moved though so my stuff is piled up in random boxes, but I'm pretty sure I kept my box of old spare head parts from my cracked head... I dunno if they're any good, but they might help...

Re: Place to buy auxiliary valve chamber collars? (and pictures)

@lostforawhile Thank you but I have the official shop manual for my car. According to my manual they are made of brass and can be taken out with a slide hammer. The block may need to be heated but it makes the job seem like it's a simple yank them out sort of situation. The new ones are installed like bearing races.

@cygnus x-1 If they're brass and simple (no moving parts, thimble shaped) I'm guessing I can have new parts machined. If you've ever done something like this before and want some extra cash PM me.

Thanks for all of your help. I'm looking forward to getting this thing on the road. I'll take pictures of the manual and post them here once I get back to it.

So I now have pictures from the manual showing the install, removal and part itself.

    Thanks for all the help.
