I'd like to see the site dedicate some space to factory original restorations. The aftermarket has largely disappeared, so we aren't likely to see a lot of wild tuner builds anymore. What we are going to see before too much longer is an interest in restorations. We are seeing a little bit already and that interest is only going to grow. It would be nice to see an area dedicated to restoration projects as well as to resources for finding good factory original parts.

Exacly, this forum holds great deal of information, so it must go on. We have a Project Central, but it all depends on what designation will it eventually get.

Project central is a great idea.

Sure, what if we add a Restoration forum and keep Progect forum as a build thread gathering, personally im not so glad to see small strobe-switch threads popup there.

I'd go for the restoration or may be a restoration / build thread, but the fact it would need to be moderated efficiantly..... well . You know where I am coming from.

I remember moderating all over, it was very slow at times in the technical/carb forums and I was feeling left out.

It would enhance the integra of the board if the faq and how to section were updated/repaired. That would be a great start for restoration info.

I think I want to add a forum where members can talk about their non-3G cars. It would be great for the community here.

Wouldn't that just be the off-topic section? I guess you could have an off-topic for cars and then an off-topic for everything else. But that almost seems redundant.

In general I think it's somewhat of a hassle to have too many different sub forums. Although looking at the overall board structure it actually looks pretty good. The only things I would maybe change are to consolidate the sub-forums in the HOWTO forum so they match the FAQ forum. And the Project Central forum seems kind of vague and cluttered. It's not obvious what constitutes a "project". Overhauling the brakes could be considered a project, but it seems too mundane to be put into a "showcase" forum, which is kind of how I perceive Project Central to be. I wonder if maybe it needs some sub-forums, like Engine Builds, Race Car Builds, Body Overhauls, etc.. A lot of the small things that Lost does are really cool but don't seem to exactly fit in Project Central. The car overall absolutely belongs there but the smaller things like the homemade muffler and the eyeball air filters almost need a section of their own; maybe a sub-forum under Project Central for custom fabrications. Also things like my engine mount adapters and OBD1 adapters could go there too.

Also, if Project Central really is intended to be a "showcase" forum (and I'm not saying it is, that's just my own interpretation) it needs to be more exclusive somehow. Like maybe a project thread starts out somewhere else and then gets voted in, or something. Or if Project Central is supposed to be something else then maybe it shouldn't be exclusive. IDK, I'm just kind of thinking out loud here.
