    Constant or variable rate springs?

    Hello everyone,

So I'm doing the shopping for my suspension and was wondering if constant or variable rate springs would be better to use with Koni adjustable struts. I plan on taking a few coils out of these eventually so I would want to pick a spring that is better at handling something like that.

    Thanks!

You found options for springs? I think the variable rate springs are usually pretty much garbage. Shocks are only valved for one rate, so you're best off with constant rate springs. Also if you cut them, it will be more consistent. Say you cut off the softest part of the spring, now you've got shorter springs, which already increases the spring rate, but also are only riding on the harder part of the spring, so you get a double effect.

I thought Rock Auto had both versions but it appears that they just have the MOOG constant rate. I figured as much but wanted to double check before ordering. Thanks again for all the help. I'll post more pics as I get them.

I've got a set of them. They are new, VERY old stock. I am probably going to have mine rebuilt at some point... They were a bit sticky but seemed okay when they came out of the box. How well they work compared to something brand new is another story.
