    Best rebuild kit

Excuse me if this is a frequent question, I tried to find it but no luck.

My girlfriends LX-I is starting to eat the bearings, so were planning to rebuild the old engine out of my car and then just swap it over. Mainly because I only have so many days off to do this.

I want to know if anyone has suggestions on the best/cheapest rebuild kit. I also need a crank and a rod, but I'll probably get those at a junkyard.

The JIS kits on ebay aren't bad. I've heard pretty good reviews from them.

We also bought from JIS on eBay . I ended up having to return some incorrect parts(not their fault) someone replaced the 2.0 with a 1.8 . They were great to deal with and the parts seem to be good quality .

I was getting antsy after I first posted this and went ahead and bought a kit from grumpys. I couldn't find the JIS kit until I started digging. However, I do have a crank from JIS and a rod from B&P on the way.

Good luck, are you going to get any machine work completed? I see you live in Gainesville Ga. Slacks did ours at a fair price.

I had the block and head cleaned decked, cylinders honed, new crank from JIS and one refurbished rod. Slacks is okay, but their not what they used to be. I get all of my work done at Brad's if you know where thats at.

Yes behind the Chevy dealership. From Browns Bridge, go down that road next to Office Pros and turn left at West Side Auto Color (old Slacks) and hes on the right in the sack.
