    Thumbs down Brake pad Vanished

yeah, so, monday my brakes started to sound loud...then tuesday they got louder...louder wednesday, then today i could barely hear my stereo. It was coming from the front passenger side, and i've had the pads & rotors for a while now, so i got my friend to check it out. I went over to the garage and when we took off the front passenger wheel we saw that one of the pads was not there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It must have fallen off sometime in the last few days. Anyone ever have that happen before??? It was that lovely metal on metal sound which you don't want to hear. Anyway, now i have brand new pads and rotors (forgot to get brake cleaner, but the gummy stuff should wear off in a day or so)......just thought i'd share

That happened to me about six years ago. I was out on the cruise strip with four people in the car and all of a sudden I hear the sound of something falling off and hitting the bottom of the car. It didn't take long to find out what it was. I hit the brakes and heard that metal on metal sound and knew right away. I had to drive 50 miles back home with no brakes. At least it was after midnight on the freeway so I could just downshift and ebrake when I needed to stop.

And they weren't put in wrong, they were just getting thin so they could slip through.

Yep, they were factory. I always buy my brake stuff directly from Honda.
