    Swapping a20a3 into 89 LX

So i'm thinking of pulling an a20a3 from my local junk yard and rebuilding the motor, and then dropping it into my 89 accord lx. (tired of messing with the carb).

What will I need to complete the swap from an a1 to an a3?

Well I think you might have to change a main relay to one that was on an LXi but I'm not sure there. You'll need a fuel pump for an efi'd motor. Um... That all I can think of right now.
If it goes faster than 115, it isn't really a Honda anymore.

Or, you can reuse your old manifolds and run the A3 carbed.

The big differences between the A1 and the A3 are compression ration, different cam, and the A3 has another mounting ear for the distributor. Otherwise, the motors are pretty much the same thing.

I was once considering the swap but I ended up running the A3 carbed. I used the Intake manifold and distributor from the A1, though I wish I had tried the A3 distributor to see how it worked.
I got the A3 for $500, with fairly low miles, it was remnants from a B16 swap a member did in my area.

I still have some of the EFI parts left over, although I did cut up the intake manifold and Secondary plate with plans to build a Quad carb manifold. Still if I went Fuel injection I was going to try and find used TBI kit on ebay. They are mostly for 4bbl manifolds but at the time I was working on making one. Plus I found pics of people turbocharging with the TBI which was another alluring factor but I didn't have the space (I rent and park on the street), time, or money to rebuild the engine for boost.
*Not my images but here is a TBI Turbo setup.

I know this is a pretty old thread but I'm doing this a3 carb motor swap right now. Can the a3 distributor even work without an ecu?
    What the hell.
