    a/c + fan problem

My 89 lxi has nice cold a/c and the compressor and condenser and cooling fans are all brand new but if I turn the fan switch on high when the a/c is on, the compressor turns off.

It works and stays on from off till the notch right before high, but switches the compressor off when you turn it on high and even the a/c light turns off on the buttons above the fan control.

Any ideas where to start? Kinda sucks not being able to get the cold air to reach you lol.

Also, what else could be replaced to make my a/c max cold (Iheard things like the drier under the dash).. thanks

Does the fan still run or does it turn off too?

What do the cooling fans do when this happens?

Have you put gauges on it to see what the pressures do when this happens?

If the compressor shuts down, the condenser fans (engine bay) should turn off too. I do not know how the A/C is wired, but I would take a look at the wiring diagrams at the fan switch
If it ain't broke... I fix it!
