How to diagnose a No-Start condition

We get "my car won't start, what do I do" threads on a regular basis. The procedure is always the same, but we don't have any threads here that describe it. Rather than write one, I'm just going to link to this one.

This would be a good one to sticky, just so it's handy when the questions come up.

    Thanks!
