Front and rear engine mounts replacement?

Do you just jack up the engine by the oil pan? Do you need to remove other mount(s) to get enough clearance to remove the engine mount from the bracket?

do not jack up the engine by the oil pan. I think the proper way is the have an engine hoist but you may be able to change one at a time without it. Lets wait until someone else chimes in on that theory.

Eh... I put a piece of plywood under the oil pan and placed the jack under it. Worked fine for me. Didn't even scratch it.

I've jacked it up from the oil pan, just used a piece of 2x4 wood.

My mechanic said he just supports the engine and unbolts the crossmembers that the mounts are attached to. I was going to try that next time I did my mounts, but I never got the chance. I don't think I would do it if I had to lower the crossmember to which the radius rods are connected. It was just something that was in the back of my mind for "next time."
