    CzEcHy - 1989 Accord LXi

Here is a teaser picture of my "new" Accord.

    As it sits,

    -321,xxx miles
    -5 speed
    -Short ram intake
-Full 2.25 mandrel bend (except under rear control arm its crush bend), catback exhaust.
    -30% F, 15% R tint
-15 inch 1997 Special Edition Miata rims w/ Kuhmo Ecsta tires (50$ for all 4 with the tires!)
FYI, I had to dremel the rims center bore to make em fit the Accord hub, not fun.

-Autopal H4 housings with DDM HID kit, 55w ultra white (amazing light cover)
    -Optronics fog lights painted yellow
-Integra front lip, painted flat black (matches car trim great)

    Future plans..
    -Header
-Install resonated test pipe I have
-Take head from my other Accord and have to rebuilt with cam, springs, etc..
-Lower the car to fill fender gap

Re: CzEcHy - 1989 Accord LXi

I'm thinking chrome dipped, they were stock wheels from a 97 miata.

They weight like 20 pounds with tires each, things can be lifted with two fingers with ease, its great.

Ill take some more pictures with my actual camera soon, black requires a lot of washing to keep dust off.. sucks when I want to take pictures.

    Thanks for the comments tho

Short throw shifter and a 2.25 inch drop coming in a few weeks.

Sprint springs with tokicos, heard a lot of good things about the pair from many generations of hondas.

Re: CzEcHy - 1989 Accord LXi

Those wheels are some of the lightest OEM wheels you can buy. They're lighter than most light aftermarket wheels. Mazda was trying to keep unsprung weight down, so they used very light wheels, and it really made a difference on the Miata.

The car looks really clean. Keep a bottle of Meguiars Quick Wax or similar in the car to wipe dust away when you want to take pictures. That's what I did when I had my black Nissan Hardbody.

    Honestly?

    Close to stock in comfort.

Yet excellent handling and minor body roll.

Speed bumps suck due to clearance but I don't scrape or bounce.

why does that not sound very convincing (") Looks great though. Have you had it aligned? Having done this myself recently, I highly recommend a good frame shop style alignment, IT ROCKS It made such a difference and feels nice other than my power steering hose failed right at the same time which is probably a good thing for now cuz I want to push the limits of the car now and there are radar cops literaly everywhere here now.
I say frame shop because usually those are old school pit type racks you don't drive up on (scrapeing) and the guys check more than just toe.

Re: CzEcHy - 1989 Accord LXi

Well, the typical "set the toe and go" alignment is the norm everywhere now unless you ask for it. In addition, if your car is too low to get it on an alignment rack, then you should probably reconsider the drop because you're going to have some unintended ill handling. At the minimum, you're going to want to adjust the sway bar end links size so that the sway bar doesn't bind, and possibly look into either dropping the steering rack or flipping the tie rod ends over so they bolt to the other side. Those are the 2 things that are easy to fix. Your camber gain is going to be higher than a stock or stock-ish car, which can lead to more tire wear.

I'm all for lowering cars, these especially, but don't make it extremely low.

Re: CzEcHy - 1989 Accord LXi

Lets say this. Even my wife and friends didn't notice anything different from stock to lowered during drives. Except the fact its lower. And I didnt notice a difference either.

I kknow my car, its my DD and its all highway and freeway.

Sprint springs are softer than other springs don't forget. The ride is going to be more comfortable than most other springs.

Also, had my aliggnment done twice, caster and toe. Don't have prelude arms yet so mber couldn't be set.a My camber isn't far from in spec and my tires are wearing even in the front.
