    Smile Accord awd?

Could one take the components from a Civic Wagovan (look it up) and put awd into an Accord? I know I would take LOTS of fab work and a driveshaft tunnel and everything... Has anyone thought about this? I know A18A is working on something similar with Nissan parts?? I will do some more research and report back. Side note: I did search the fourm before posting!

    Re: Accord awd?

From what I read today, the civic has a ~3.5 inch narrower track and a ~6 inch difference in wheel base length, how do you overcome the diffrences? Would the front end have to be changed around? Due to different driveshafts, or are they close enough? Does anyone on the board know more about the rt4wd system? Is it the same one on the CR-V? I've seen this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iS6jQjEpxu4 and it looks like it's full time. The CR-V has part time, as in: front wheels slip and the rears engage. I don't want part time 70f/30r...

The biggest problem I could see would be that the civic/crv rear suspension is nowhere near the same as the Accord. This means you would actually have to fabricate the rear of the car to support the control arms. You would also have to re-locate the fuel tank as it is located where the rear differential would go. Axles are easy, you can go to any driveshaft shop with the length you need, and ends you plan to use. As far as people to ask I believe vector would be the most knowledgeable as he put an H22 in the rear of a hatch.
