Hello everyone :) F20B Swap in process

I have an 87 Honda Accord LX. Just sayin hey to get the ball rolling. I'm currently in the process of swapping a F20B into my accord at the moment. Since I didnt realize you have to pay to post in the project thread ill put it here:

Just thought I would let you all inside this motor swap in progress. Started off not knowing what this would entail and has now became in just a week to this point already. As you can see below that yes, I am putting a JDM F20B out of a Honda Accord SiR-T and putting a S2000 gauge cluster. Buying this motor was the greatest thing I have done since I got this accord. It came with Jasma Mugen headers and exhaust for just around 2K. I was majorly happy with this purchase after seeing those stainless steel headers and exhaust. There has been alot of set backs and alot of breakthroughs we have found. Like just today we got some axles off a 89 Acura integra and got a half shaft out of a 93 accord and now we have the front suspension all back together. It all fit like it was meant to be there. We tried to do a cable clutch and that didnt work(it was worth a shot). So we thought we might as well go back to the hydro clutch setup that was originally in there. Everything from the shifter linkage to the motor mounts to sectioning and lowering the cross member is all custom. From all the research me and my father have done, no one has done this swap successfully except one person in thailand. So this is a great opportunity for me and my father to show the honda community that this can be done. Sorry i've been babbling heres alot of pics

Then pulled in and out to make sure it fits well and gave it a new paint job in the engine bay

This is where we stand right now. The front suspension is back in and fully placed. All thats left to do is the hydro clutch, some vaccum lines and the ac line and the wiring of the engine and gauge cluster. Next for the project later this year is a turbo addition along with the blow off valve and new chipped ecu. Planning on 8-10 pounds of boost.

Excellent work on that! Hopefully this will inspire some more people to "just do it" when it comes to swaps like this. Glad to have you on the board!

sweet, cool to see another f/h powered CA

And I will agree that having a hydraulic clutch is better than having a cable to hydro conversion

Hello everyone again just giving an update of the car as of right now. All ECU wiring is done the hydro clutch has been fixed and started it for the first time yesterday. heres a video for your viewing pleasure: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=accTuzG6vKE&feature=plcp

all thats left now is the gauge cluster, the fan for the radiator, the O2 sensor being put on and lastly putting everything back together. I might even have a test drive video up this weekend too.

    Hey man,

I really love your build; a lot of work and great results!
Im working on getting my own 88 into that kind of shape, (but with a diff engine, so no worries) Im also impressed that you did a swap nobody else thought of j/k, its awesome!

I was just wondering if you had a thread on how you did your body? the job looks great, and the bumpers too! Would love to know more since Im hoping I can get mine underway before school starts T.T

    Thanks

    Re: Hello everyone :)

hey 88 sleeper im just curious on what info you wanted about the body? I mean the body is stock just the engine bay is modified. cause doing that there was only minor cuts in the engine bay and to the crossmember to fit it in there(obviously with custom motor mounts). 1 other person in thailand i believe did this swap but no one has the guts to try. everyone kept telling me to do the easy way out like a B series or even the H series and I ignored them and did what I wanted because I knew that this was going to be a one and only car that has this in it.

But i mean the bumpers are a body kit that I bought years ago but im going back to stock height and putting the original bumpers on due to lowering the crossmember 2 inches for the headers and exhaust to clear. I think I need to take some more pics.
