    1983 Isuzu I-Mark sedan 1.8L diesel???

I have a opportunity to purchase this car. It is in great shape. Its solid with just a little rust. the body is straight with no dents. Interior is clean for its age . The car is 100% original with 195,000 miles. The guy wants $1000 bucks for it...What do you guys think??

This is what it looks like:

Offer $800 and daily drive it. I wouldn't be surprised to see 50MPG out of it. It looks fairly clean, and in the right circles, these cars are considered pretty damned cool.

The price is not bad, have you driven it? Any mechanical issues?

I have done some research and the reviews are excellent. It is categorized as one of the best little diesels ever made. I haven't driven it yet cause I'm afraid if I do, I will love it. The MPG are 43/60

Look at it this way, you're not going to be losing money on the car even if you buy it and stop liking it in six months. Sell it at that point for what you have in it or more and having a cool car becomes cheap.

It looks really tidy but they are not common. How hard will it be to find parts?

Drive train parts are readily available, but as far as the body and trim parts; your guess is as good as mine.

I bet it would develop 50-60 hp; however, by being diesel means it would run on fumes.

I saw it listed in rockauto.com although I did not check what is available.
