Isn't 1985 a 2nd gen? and 1986 is the third gen? I know that 1983 an 1984 accords are two different cars though still 2nd gens. Do you know of any coilovers that will work on my 2nd gen?

3rd gen was released late in '85 & anything later than that would definitely be 3rd, bigger, heavier & with the double wishbone suspension all round so coilovers don't locate the wheels, where earlier Accord were struts all around to locate the wheels.
Better to get coilovers intended for something closer in weight & also strut based. Mazda 323, Ford Escort, Mitsubishi Colt/Lancer perhaps?

    Re: 84 coilovers question

Sorry if this is a annoying question to ask, but I'm still fairly new to cars in general. I just finished my auto class from high school ( Just graduated ) so I'm not very knowledgeable on how to make conversions or finding parts from other cars that work on mine ect. I just know my way around a car, I can tell you whats what, do my own maintenance ect, never done work like this but its what I want to learn about.
So thus brings my question, essentially how would I figure out what I could buy an fit to my car an test out? I know that there's technically a lot I can fit into my car but not all of it will make it perform correctly and that's a big concern for me, the car is solid as it is an I want to keep it that way so I didn't wanna just go for random parts that bolt up just to have them, I really want to increase its handling, I would like to replace the whole suspension at some point so its all fully adjustable and I can take her to the track one day. Sorry for my long paragraphs to, once I start thinking i don't slow down haha. But any information will be greatly appreciated, and if you need pictures of anything let me know im glad to upload more.

Your best bet for better than stock ride is the koni inserts and eibach springs. I've got a thread around here on the install somewhere, and technically, your factory struts are "coil over damper" anyway.

You can still get the Koni's at Classic Garage, but good luck getting any lowering springs let alone Eibach. I searched for 6 months and couldn't find any except Spax, but they were like $500-$600 shipped. I finally ended up getting Moog variable rate front springs for a hatch, which are about 2/3" shorter than the sedan ones, and cut off one bottom coil. I got 2-21/2" lower and the ride is great. They were like $40 shipped from Rock Auto. I left the back as is because the springs had sagged some anyway. Still running stock struts though.
