    Unhappy 3k idle....HELP!!!

    i fire up my car and it will idle at 3 grand...cant get it to go down....i try adjusting it and it dont help.....sometimes it will go all the way to 4k....any suggestions??? am i gonna have to rebuild it? its a POS 3 barrel


    i need help...pretty sure its not good just driving it like that....also it backfires super loud when i shut it off and a nice big fireball shoots out of the exhaust....

    its in my 78 CVCC accord

    Sounds like a stuck choke to have that much fuel reaching the exhaust?

    Yeah if the choke is stuck, it will run super rich, and the high idle cam will be stuck on.

    the carb looks rough...you think i should just have it rebuilt? i cant afford a weber right now but that is on my future to do list

    can i eliminate the electric choke and just get one of those "help!" packages and run a manual cable into the car?
