well i dunno since youre not wanting to spend very much, but i bought 2 pairs of pioneer 6.5s 3way and they sound good. they were like $55 a pair at wal*mart though... so its more than you are looking to spend. i would check out ebay if youre looking for a good deal!

ALex, thanks a lot man. But as u know, i dont trust Mobile authority or anything that does not have much of a review. The reason is, i dont know how they handle the base. I mean, i am a base guy. My Base is at 12 and the treble is at -6. i dont have it too loud, but i like the base with the treble a lil reduced. and another thing is that, those 6.5" speakers have a nice low freq (30Htz) which is good . check the specs on the Lanzars i just ordered

    - Super Slim 6.5" Size Fits OEM Locations.
    - Blue Injected Polypropylene Cone.
    - Non-Fatiguing Butyl Rubber Surround.
    - Rigid Powder Coated Steel Basket.
    - High Temperature Aluminum Voice Coil.
    - Strong Capacitor For Excellent Performance.
    - 30 oz. Strontium Magnet Structure.
    - Rubber Boot Magnet Cover.
    - Power Handling: 240 Watts.

The reason is, i got 4 Boston Acqustics, the speakers u cant beat in quality. and they handle base like none other. And they are 50W (RMS). I am sure there are lot of Speakers out there now that can out qualify these bostons, but u know they have been there and done that.

Anywayz, I did order 4 Lanzars last night. its not for me, but for my sister.

PS: Has anyone have a 6X9 in their cars? i mean in a 3g? cause those damn speakers handle some deep base.

those three digit numbers on normal speakers are just the peak power handling, if ur a nutjob, u can have ur speaker at that level and blow it in a few days. but the normal handling wattages are like 50W or even 60W at some funky levels.

6.5 speakers just can't move that much air, especially the low profile ones you'll have to put in the front of the car so the windows clear. I would try to put 6x9 in the back if you crave bass or go with a sub. You just won't be happy with 6.5 providing the only bass in the car (if bass is real important.).
