Nah not mine. Its a customer's car pretty much haha he saw my car pics on failbook and determined to find who the owner is and then paid me a bunch of $$$$ to do pretty much exactly what I did to my car.
I wish I could weld myself because I would do things exactly my way and not to mention cheaper. They wanted too much to fix the whole car so we have to opt for the cheaper by welding only the critical structural areas. I'm gonna have to fix the rest with fiberglass. Oh well.
Anyway so I didn't get much done to the car recently. Been busy with other crap and cars, and titties apparently >< But here are some boring bondo pics
Same ol bs, bondo, sand, bondo, sand, add more bond, sand, repeat.
Ridiculous wheelgap o.o
Tf would you roll the fenders with that kind of wheelgap lol
Just wait for the new wheels and stance
Gonna have to use fiberglass for this (N)
Clean (Y)
Bondo everywhere!
Sucks you have to use all the fiberglass. But so long as you put some good rust protector on top of the metal, and get as much of the rust out as you can, hopefully it'll last a while. Maybe treat the rusty areas with some rust converter or something like Por15 before the fiberglass goes down. Hopefully that will make it last.
3 in the stink 1 in the pink?? :O REVERSE SHOCKER!

Rofl you guys.
Anyway so upon further investigation, I found out that the drip rail area is rusted out beyond saving leaving me no choice but to cut them all out and shave them while I'm at it since obviously I can't weld and having people to do it for me would cost a fortune. I always wanted to do it on my car but never got the chance to do it. Besides, the are barely any rust in there so figured why fix something that isn't broken? The owner agreed to shave the drip rails so..
What the fuck.
All cut exposing the hidden rust holes

Yikes, just as well you removed it with all that mess going on underneath.
Really looking forward to seeing how that works out as I am interested in removing the gutters from an Accord one day too.
I had thought of possibly adding some new ones afterward though. Possibly aftermarket adhesive chrome side-strip (or original stainless steel pieces) applied to some simple bent angle strips that could be screwed to the roof. Allowing it to be adjusted to fit closer to the roof & doors than Honda intended, for a smoother look.
Man that is rough! Going to be a lot of work, but keep up the good work, I know you can do it!!
Ow looks like I would never do this again. It was a mess to get it right due to the weird angle and small sections being cut out. I'M GETTING A WELDER SOON!
Anyway so here are some pics of the mess:
And yes I did cut the old rusty metal out and slapped a bunch of fiberglass on so excuse the mess xD I swear it would look semi decent once sanded/shaped tomorrow LOL
That doesn't look like too much fun. Wanna do my car, too?! lol
Damn dude! Some serious resin action going on there! You have your work cut out for ya!
WTF? I can't see the pikturez!
So many reasons why
I won't be sending postcards

Oh i can see the pics now. Jesus Christ!! Man, GET A MIG WELDER!! I know they are ridiculously expensive, but you can be Chip Foose with one of them.

AAAAaaaaannnnd I see a lot of sanding in YOUR future!
I like the idea of the shaved rails though, can't wait to see how it turns out.
Sure, plane tickets nao!
I HATE fiberglass.
Yes OMG I need a welder so bad its not even funny. Theres so much shit that I could do with it not to mention saving me a lot of time trying to glass over this stupid hole >< Its taking forever!
You are right sir It took forever to sand
Anyway moar updates!
Antenna shaved (Y)
Shaved the pass side door lock too
Shaped this completely out of a fiberglass lol. And yes I did cut all the rusted piece out leaving me with.. nothing! Bad thing is, no moar jacking points. Just like my own car where I have to jack on the frame rails, which is PITA since I can't even fit my jack underneath the car (N)
Moar glassing
Wow.
all the money spent on fibre glass for this car alone will probably cost more than a welder :O
Something like you have maybe :p But I'd rather save up for something decent (Y) Besides hay I only charge him 40% of what the actual welding cost a shop gonna charge him! And yes that money went towards my "Save up for a welder" fund (Y)
Anyway so took the car out and washed everything even the interior

Looking like good progress! Excited to see how those shaved drip rails turn out!
I think they look great (Y) Anyway so I've covered the car in primer once again mainly to cover up some bare metal spot from sanding the bondo and stuff. Theres still a LOT of work to do. I can finally see a lot of low spots everywhere especially the drip rail area omg ><
Effed up line lolol gotta fix that. Its hard to tell when its in 34234 different colors
Once again, messed up line haha
Moar bondo and sanding later ><
Wow some major progress since I last looked. Scarey idea fiberglassing the sill end areas though.
De-guttering on-the-way. Gap to doors frames doesn't look as big as I thought it would.
Back will look neater without the chrome trim above the lamps like that too.
Worth removing the bumpers rubber trim support panel as well?
I'm still getting some rust stains from behind mine on the '77 & had removed it from the '79.
You could bolt/screw it back on afterward?
I think I ground/drilled back the spot-weld areas before wobbling it about to fatigue the remaining metal when removing from '79 so as not to disturb metal underneath.
