    1979 Accord Restomod

Heres a worklog of a car belongs to a friend of mine that I'm working on at the moment. I'm too lazy to describe shit so I figured the PICS would do the talking

    Re: 1979 Accord Restomod

I know he better off with a cleaner shell but finding a better condition like this one for cheap (even if you could find one!) is gonna be a huge PITA.

Honestly the condition isn't that bad. I've seen worse with bunch of rust spots but this one is actually pretty clean minus the shoddy repair/bondo work which I'm gonna sort them out obviously!

I'm gonna strip them to the bare metal, replacing most of the weatherstrips (if available) and doing some tastefully done mods while we're at it

That's going to be a fun project, man! Did you ever find out what the deal was with the lug conversion? How he did it?

    Glad it's getting some love!
A bit rough like you said, but doesn't look too bad. At least the attention has hopefully kept the rust from getting out of control.
I know those side creases can be hard to get perfect.
Definately looking forward to the end results & hope you don't uncover too many horrors along the way.

    Re: 1979 Accord Restomod

Did somebody just said moar PICS?

I've managed to finish the whole passenger side in one day In case you're wondering, all I'm using to scrape them off is a heat gun + scraper Worked wonders. I still have to clean the leftover paint/bondo with a sander and it should be ready for bondo (if any) and primer by next week. Then I'm gonna get the windshield off and get some rust holes welded by a shop. Fun!

What the heck did that car go through to have all that Bondo on it? It sure will grant you a wonderful sense of accomplishment when you are all done!

Who the fuck knows! I don't see any reason why the doors need that much of a bondo really. What the fuck are they thinking?!

    Amazing!
They had welder but were afraid of removing the rusty metal underneath, cutting metal to fit & welding all the way round?
Great progress, amazing in a far better way.

Yeah, i was wondering if paint remover or heat gun. I would use a flame thrower lol. Amazingly, under all that crappy bondo, the body looks pretty straight! I think your friend cant believe that under all that there is a car!
    Excellent job so far.
