Question Raybestos/AC Delco rear adjustable upper control arms

So I was browsing Rock Auto the other day and saw these parts listed on their site. Raybestos and AC Delco both seem to make adjustable rear upper control arms for our cars. I am curious as to wether anyone has tried these yet? and had any experience with the quality of them? IMO, the Raybestos one looks a bit more robust, but not sure.

I am thinking of trying some out to help with my camber issues, and using the Moog control arm mounts to get rid of some negative camber in the front end.

I am replacing my ball joints and tie rods, etc right now while doing my motor work, and I have OEM rear upper control arms i bought a while back, but I want to try something with the adjustability.

    Here are some pics:

Both are chinese and not the best in quality. The Raybestos pictured is actually made by SPC, which is quite decent aside from the balljoint. You can probably find a better price for a SPC set on egay and replace the balljoints with quality honda/moog/three-five (555) units.

I got the old pictures some where I'll post them up if you want. they sent me one of one style arm and one of the other so I sent them back. I think I am about 50/50 on Rockauto so far.

I am happy with the Ingalls arms.

i would go with the raybestos one , overall the design looks a lot better than the AC delco. One thing i do like better about the Raybestos part is the ball joint carrier the raybestos one looks casted while the ACdelco one looks welded on. Im going to be buying a set of these soon to start my se-i rear disk swap

I agree the raybestos looks better, but they're 100 apiece and i don't see them anywhere on ebay.

very interesting, if the ball joint was replaced with a better one, you would have a decent arm. the main advantage, is you could replace the ball joint instead of the entire arm.

Re: Raybestos/AC Delco rear adjustable upper control arms

Not sure if anyone else has tried this lately but the cost is a bit higher at Napa. 117 a piece part number 260-5115. Comes out to the SCP one pictured above. The arm itself looks plenty strong but the ball joint as LX-Iincredible says its stamped made in china right on it. The old napa part that is just the arm is the AC Delco part and is currently discontinued. That being said they still have stock of it. Myself, spending 117 on the part is a bit out of my range to drop another 50 on a different ball joint. Im going to wait till the cheap chinese one fails. My current arms or so worn out you can move the joint inside the housing. Great info in the thread so far, just trying to keep it alive.

    - ingalls 38600 adjustable arms with poly ends.
    - moog k9736 bushings

have you priced these out? I just added a grease fitting to mine and they hold up.

I believe there non-Chinese parts since I don't buy China but I could be wrong.

Re: Raybestos/AC Delco rear adjustable upper control arms

Im disgusted with Rock auto at the moment, well not really them but Raybestos..I ordered two of these Raybestos Part# 5021018 and they came to me as standard non adjustable arms. They are pretty and all but F me this is not what is pictured or described in the catalog under that number.
They are offering to refund my money if I send them back, but that doesn't help me finish the car while I have milder weather to work in....
I should have known $29 each was a tease, I just ordered two from NAPA, for $35 each. I had the parts guy acknowledge what is in the NAPA prolink catalog, these are adjustable rear UCA w/joint.
Rock needs to correct the catalog asap.

Re: Raybestos/AC Delco rear adjustable upper control arms

Yeah in this case I would stick with the Ingalls, or I guess there SPC now, arms. I think Rockauto means well but they can't keep track of all the parts they sell and what they really are.

So far with the grease fittings mine have stayed tight. Prolly would be better if I greased them once a year but I never remember too.

    f bomb
Ok I just got the NApA arms, NCP 2605115 and they are the same dam way. The catalog clearly describes them as adjustable w/ball joint, shows a picture of it and dam if they aren't in the same box, wrapped the same way as the Raybestos arms, and duplicates of OEM and NOT Adjustable.

Now I have money tied up in credit card returns and pretty much dead in the water on this for now.

That's brutal... I almost ordered the Raybestos ones off of Rockauto at $30 a piece this week too. Good luck getting this sorted and let me know what you find.

Re: Raybestos/AC Delco rear adjustable upper control arms

Ok, I reordered these from Rock auto, but without the ball joint. They came as the correct part. Funny thing is though the boxes were unopened, identical, but the parts were wrapped different and they look like they are made of different materials
They look different as well from the picture in the first post. Still seem pretty stout so I am keeping them. Raybestos Part#6111090 $48.79 each
