Hay its functional. I can now park a few blocks away from nearby Starbucks and steal their wifi (Y). LOL tbh I don't really like the antenna but oh well.

Anyway so installed a Sony RM-X2S joystick remote near the steering column. Now waiting for the USB interface so I can hook this bitch up to my carpc!

Also waiting for the right time to get this installed near the center console (Y)

    Interesting stuff!
Does that mean you have to cut up your new ctr console again to fit it (under handbrake) ?
I'm tempted to make up a smoothed "brushed metal" Radio/Heater control area for Accord one day...
& '80's Integra just begs for such electro-techno gadgetry (once I have money to register it for the road).

So does that thing act like a little joystick/mouse? Or is it like a dial that you can push down on to "click" and choose menu options? I wish I knew how to do programming and stuff like that, I'd try and get some kind of Raspberry Pi set-up going and make my own car pc, custom menu and all.... Then again to even afford what I'd need to buy I guess I'd actually need a friggin JOB first! LOL FML Anyhow I'd like to see what's up with your car pc sometime man...like what does it do? how tricky was it to wire up, etc....

...and the associated German wiring issues! I'm already having troubles with me overloading my USB hub. Looks like I'm gonna need a more powerful 5V supply for all my USB stuff.

Supposed to fit the knob right above the e-brake handle, just slightly under the arm rest padding. BTW its just a regular EG console. I probably would be able to sell off the CTR console if I ever have one -.-

What thing xD Theres 2 input device now, 3 if you count the touch screen. But the knob is just spin left/right. hold and spin left/right and press. I haven't hooked the knob properly yet but I'm supposed to program them to browse the PC front end menu (with the included program duh, I suck at programming shit)

The Sony joystick has 10 button presses. I can twist, press and stuff with it. Using this to control the volume +/-, next/previous track, mute, play/pause/dim screen/toggle shuffle playback/some unused buttons that I have no idea what I'm gonna use them for

The PC is just for music playback and GPS navigation. That is all. The rest is just "nice to have" stuff that I don't really need. Like browsing the internet wuut why would I do that >< It would be awesome if I have an OBD-II capable engine so I can hook the PC and have the stuff displayed on the screen. Oh well. But yeah I would get a vid of both knob and joystick in action soon!

Anyway so I bought this non airbag 4g steering wheel for cheap and its in a rather beat up condition. Went 'shopping' on ebay and I found a cheap steering wheel cover that you're suppose to sew yourself so I was like why not give it a try, its only $8ish IIRC.

    Heres the result:

End result is just awesome IMO. Look exactly like what a shop would charge you to recover your wheel except at the 1/212134324324324324th of the price! It gave the wheel a nice fat feel to it like what you normally would get on a newer/modern car.

Yeah, I was asking about that silver knob thing..pretty friggin cool! I noticed the wheel man, I normally hate those steering wheel cover things but it looks like you not only chose a cool looking one but you did a proper job putting it on. Kudos.

Nice. Makes a difference seeing that cover sewn on properly with neat small stitches. Much better than 'slip-on' covers

Heres where I got it from: http://www.ebay.com/itm/150922565983...Y:3160&vxp=mtr

That size worked on a 4g non-airbag wheel so I'm guessing a 3g wheel is similar in size too.

    Better pics of the wheel:

The white dots isn't that noticable irl, flash made it look weird but you can always go with the non-perforated cover.

I like the cover a lot, its soft and gave this 'fat' feel to it. I hate skinny wheels.

Also, I now realized why they charge to much to recover a steering wheel LOL

I've also acquired a 9.5" EG brakes for nearly free. Took them apart (obviously) and gave them a clean, replaced the seals and repainted the calipers.

    Moar pics once installed.

I believe 9.5" is the biggest I can go without using adapters.

    Mounted the EG brakes earlier

EG 9.5" on the left, EF (HF? DX?) 9" on the right

    Size comparison

    Caliper bracket mounted

    2mm shim

(used) pads mounted. I know I'm being cheap but I'll replace them someday :p

    Stock (4x120 hubs) 9" rotor

1g Prelude rotor, Stock 1g Accord caliper, 9" rotor

EF brakes: 9" rotor, good calipers with proper sliders!!

EG brakes: 9.5", slightly bigger pad area

    Nice, an impressively bigger caliper.
ED/EF civics had a few different caliper options, the mid-spec Si getting bigger ones sharing pads with 3g Prelude. SiR getting bigger again for bigger 262mm disc rotors.

I have no idea what these came from but I'm guessing its just a base model EG and the old one being the base model too seeing how its the smallest I could find on the internet. Not sure what they are called here but I believe they're off a HF?

    Re: My 1g Thread

    Oooh lookie

Before anybody asks, the reason for camber plates are to compensate for my bent frame where I can never get both side's camber to be the same. Driver's side used to have around -2 while the passenger side having near 0 camber. That causes my steering to feel.. funny. I don't know how to explain though haha.

This is a temporary setup until I fabricate a bigger plate to sit above the strut tower and have caster adjustments as well. A downside to this design is I'm losing valuable suspension travel It actually raised my car by half inch (N). Had to lower the coilovers a little bit to bring it back to the previous height. Not a good idea but like I said this is just temporary. Mounting the new camber/caster plate above the strut tower is going to gain me additional 1" of travel (Y)

Also, ignore the extra holes xD

    Re: My 1g Thread

It turned out the calipers are garbage. They would freeze randomly and resulted in smoking brakes and peeling wheel/caliper paint LOL. It was clean internally, no corrosion or anything but the seals are all hardened up. Replaced the seals (o-rings??) and they're good as new now (Y)

It sure as fuck isn't fun to drive with boiling brake fluid and have no brakes!

    Off topic but:

Made these for a customer. Not feeling the style but he wanted that kind of layout so. Looks cool but not the brightest setup/layout

And yes, 2ndGenGuy I still gotta finish yours ><

That LED layout does look pretty good, more LED required for brightness?
Certainly some interesting premade arrays available now to play with. I'm tempted by a thin strip DRL/indicator setup on Ebay for front.
Glad the calipers are sorted now.
