Not completely, but I feel like we need some bumper shoops, like smaller, tucked bumpers. I think 79Cord has some on his cardomain.

    Re: My 1g Thread

Useful to have a summary for your car.
You could add in thread links to fill in the details on all that work you did. Always good to see more pictures of it.

I'll have to find the sketch I did for a custom front valance intended to fill in Hondas gaping hole with a low broad, slightly hexagonal grille (wider at bottom than top) to go below a slightly wider original grille, flanked by small rectangular indicator/park lamps.

I'd probably put a smaller bumper over the top for peace of mind myself though.
I took a photo with a chrome BMW E28 5-series bumper roughly on the back (front much too pointy) but thought it a little skinny for the Accord. Chrome E30 ones are little deeper & more appropriate.. but I prefer the Holden/Isuzu Gemini ones without rub-strips better so will make some fiberglass copies eventually. They need to be enlarged or their wrap-around ends trimmed to suit the Accords width & straighter for the back.

    Re: My 1g Thread

    OMG an update!

I've got myself some chinese (fake/imitation/counterfeit/cheap) Defi gauges:

Now, before anybody screams RICE!!!1 the main reason why I installed a vacuum gauge is to assist me in hypermiling as well as keeping an eye on my overall engine health. I did tune my carb/ignition advance with them too but my previous settings are spot on! Not bad for a tune without a proper tool I must say. Hell I don't even have a timing light!

Wish the gauges would glow blue instead. Stupid chinese crap having pics of the gauges in blue but they lights up white/red instead hah!

    Bonus exterior pics:

    Re: My 1g Thread

So I've scored this supposed to be some rare ass EG SiR-T armrest center console for real cheap few months ago. I tried to resell the console but no there are no takers so I was like hay lets put that to a good use. Obviously it doesn't look right with the 2g gear console and I don't feel like spending anymore money for the EG gear console so I MUST make them fit while maintaining the factory look... err I pretty much have no factory part left untouched in my car currently LOL

And I would fucking kill you if you ask me if the EG console is for sale fdsfgs

Ignore the purple seats. They appear purple with flash for some reason. And I'm getting tired of all black interior now too. *hint hint*

    Re: My 1g Thread

I've decided to wrap the whole center console instead of repainting them because of all the fiberglassing job done to it took away the texture and it would look funny not having any texture on them.

All done! And it was a PITA to get them done haha. Oh and ignore the overspray on the vinyl LOL I didn't realize the vinyl sheet that I used has some overspray on it (N)

Oh and I've added 2 USB ports just under my stereo for my carputer (Y)

They are not perfect but I'm happy with the results Nobody can even tell its 2 different center console fiberglassed together

Everybody is busy on Facebook being spoon fed and whoring pictures that will vanish into oblivion and never be found again. I appreciate you keeping up the awesome posts. And the sneak preview looks great! Want to see VIDS of them on the car.

    Re: My 1g Thread

    Failbook ftl.

But yeah I've decided to retrofit my 3rd brake lamp which is pulled from a 4g Accord few months back with.... LEDs!

LEDs mounted on a stripboard cut to fit and then painted silver

    Test fit.

Looks about as bright as the stock 21W bulb so I'm happy with the result.

More pictures tomorrow. I still need some caps for my voltage regulator.

More details on the circuit (if anybody interested):

33 LEDs total in 11 x 3 LED arrays with 120 ohms resistors in each array connected to LM7809A 9V voltage regulator.

If you are wondering why I went with 9V instead of the usual 12V regulator, the regular LM7812 are linear regulators where they need at least 2V above the voltage they are putting out.

Example: 12V regulator need at least 14.5V for it to work properly. 9V requires 11.5V. 14.5V is awfully close to the max voltage our car's putting out when the engine is running. It would drop down to 13ish when under load (A/C, headlights etc) so that would result the regulator putting out less than 12V needed.

The downside of going with 9V is the regulator gets HOT during use but I figured I only would have them running when I stepped on my brakes and I have a heatsink on it just to be safe.

I would go with a low drop-out regulators (they need to have at least 0.5V more instead of 2) but I couldn't find any locally so I said eff that I'll just do my 3rd brake light for now and see how it goes.

LEDs are 20mA each (cheap ebay crap) wish that I went with the more expensive 70mA but I think this will do as an experiment (Y)

220 mA current draw vs 1.75A from the stock single 21W bulb.

Also, a regulator is a MUST if you're going with LEDs. I've done a lot of regular LED installs before and they would always burn out after a few years of use. Voltage/current spikes from our charging system is bad for LEDs!

Beautiful job on that center console/armrest Hazwan, and the details regarding the LEDs are very interesting. I raided a cheap torch & just added a resistor for the LEDs lighting my Preludes rear numberplate from a slot cut in the rear bumper, with the LED arranged in a cross-fire aim to keep the hole small, (Such a mess underneath though).

At least you gauges are mounted sensibly & not pretentiously strung up the windscreen pillar.

I hate the gauges myself but they are functional so I can't complain much haha

    Re: My 1g Thread

Worked on the side markers just now. I had JDM 2g Civic on mine (smaller/slimmer than stock Accord ones)

Test fit inside 1g Accord lens

How it looks like inside the Civic marker housing (that was the early design for the board/LED setup which I added 3 moar in the final design)

    There, looks stock!

Crappy pic but trust me its about the same as the original 5W bulb so its all (Y)

Soon my friend, soon and I'll get your set done

Anyway so here are some night shots.

Viewed from the side. Still very visible (Y) Good for tards next to me who didn't notice that I'm trying to change lanes lololo

Keep in mind that it is hard to capture the correct lighting from the LEDs but just a comparison, it is actually about as bright as the single 21W incandescent bulb in the bumper lights! Keep in mind that it came with a T10 5W bulb in the side marker which is pretty dim.

Bonus pic of my E34 ellipsoids cut-offs. Yes the aiming is a bit messed up on the driver's side haha gotta fix that! Oh and I need some good bulbs still. My passenger's side is slightly dimmer than the driver's side LOL. Who knows how old the bulbs that came with the headlamp haha
