    Re: Hey Guys!

Welcome aboard! Glad to see you decided to sign up and post. Your Accord sounds really mint and makes me kind of jealous.... Be sure to shoot some pics soon for us to see.

Your neighbors subie is pretty cool too, body kit is a little wild for my liking, but it puts down some proper power.

My hatch came with all that too, (well, minus the leathery package - mine was in a large envelope, but was about 2 inches thick full of the car's entire history down to every oil change.) Unfortunately my minty little beast recently got totaled. Hoping to get another one just like it someday in the future.

Anyways.... post up some REAL pics of your car, would you? lol

    Re: Hey Guys!

im pretty sure they are 1 ohms
they will work for a while with no problems
but i wouldnt keep them without the amp....

what i would recommend you get some 6-1/2 and just
    use those

Do you have a Multimeter? That's the easiest way to test them.

    Re: Hey Guys!

I can almost guarantee a stock head unit won't handle a one ohm load if you crank it up.

Most head units have an internal amplifier. When I talk about blowing your head unit, in this case, I mean blowing the output amp.

To test the speakers, just touch the leads of your meter set on the "ohm" setting to your speaker terminals. Round, as they will likely be a little off. Anything around one ohm is one ohm, anything around 2 is 2, anything around 4 is 4 and so on.

    Re: Hey Guys!

Yup, that confirms that our Bose speakers are 4 ohm drivers, unless something goofy happened and they've been replaced, which is HIGHLY unlikely, as most people that change out those speakers install conventional speakers in their place.

The speakers you have there, they don't have a tweeter or anything, right? I think the Bose speakers have a round dome with no whizzer cone. The cones should be paper, the surrounds should be foam or butyl rubber, and the domes should be textile. Anything else like poly or metal cones would be aftermarket, but it would take an audio nerd to source drivers like that. Like I said, I don't think they've been tampered with, but I'm wanting to verify.

I might track a set down. I wouldn't mind them, even for just the enclosures. My audio systems are unconventional to say the least.
