I picked up some Bose front speakers out of an sei today at the jy. Can I use these with an aftermarket head unit (Sony) and no other Bose factory components? If not, if anyone wants to buy them, they will be for sale.

I think they get into the nitty gritty of all that in this thread.

Fixed your link, Snooz.
Yes, they will work. Don't turn the bass up too much. You don't want to throw a bunch of frequencies at the drivers that will just make them bottom out. Since you're dealing with quite a bit more power than anyone with a stock unit will, you've gotta keep an ear out for distortion.
Cool well I'll try them out tomorrow. I don't blast the music too much, only every now and then, but if the factory speakers have been able to handle it I'm sure these will too.

If they are 1 ohm they will not work.
I had a sony deck once, I hooked up an extra pair of speakers to it (2 ohms total load) and it kept playing, but after turning it off and back on it would not play until I unplugged the extra speakers.
